What New Things Would You Like to See at DL for Halloween?

Last year was the 1st time in my memory where DL
Actually decorated Main Street and the Entry area
    for Halloween.

What new things would you like to see for Halloween
this year, and what changes would you make to last
    years halloween festivities?

Personally, All the Jack O'lanterns at the entrance to
DL and all along Main Street were terrific, as were the
    signs on the lampposts.

I think Al mentioned that they would be adding more
decorations to Frontierland, and that would be great!

It would be fun if they added some special lightning effects
on the Castle ~ similar to what has been done on Tower of
Terror. Maybe some fun Halloween type music for Main Street.
Oh, keep adding more displays, (like the ones transplanted from
Tokyo DL) Add a few more "Friendly Ghosts" (no, not casper)
around DL, similar in style to the Tokyo DL decorations.

Over at DCA, the "Golden Screams" needs a COMPLETE change.
That show was such a poor excuse for entertainment! DL has
proved that they can do so much better, remember the Disney
Diva's even a few years back???? AND PLEASE!!!!!!!! FLOOD
both DL and DCA WITH VILLAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The decorations around ToT were fantastic, love to see more like
that throughout both DCA and DL!

Call me greedy, but I think the Villians need a ride of their own.

Have it open Halloween 2009. Doesn't matter if it's a slow dark ride or a fast ride, Disney has so many great villians over the years, it could easily fill a ride and then some.

I guarentee that the imagineers would have a blast putting together such a ride.

I agree, a villians' ride would be awesome, ecspecially at the level of quality of a classic E-Ticket such as IAJ, POTC, and HM.

It would be cool if they brought in some fog machines. Some light fog (Not real heavy like Knotts) in the evening would really set the Halloween mood. I like the lightning on the castle idea that would look really cool. There should also be lots of villians in the parks during this time. How about adding some Halloween effects to some rides? I think this would work well on BTMRR.

I would also like to see more villans running around the park.

Castle decorations would be nice, as well as a parade and/or fireworks show.

In response to the post above: We have an old home movie from when we went to DL on Halloween night. On it was the Rivers of America filled with fog. It was very creepy looking. I would love to see that back.

Yup fog machines at the rivers of america would be awesome

also add creepy light effects at the Haunted Mansion to really give it a spooky feeling in the entryway, and bring back the tombstones in the front and import the Madame Leota Tombstone from WDW's mansion.

also add fog around the castle and add thorns surrounding it like in sleeping beauty and of course villans running around the park, also some fog effects in POTC for flavor

Yes it needs a halloween parade and halloween fireworks similar to disney worlds but different so they are not copying disney world. i agree that the place needs to be filled with villians. at disney world during the mickeys no so scary party at least when i was there, they had a villians show and then they would come down and take pictures and autographs it was fun and they also need to have the headless horseman riding his horse at night down main st. just like disney world.

Re: What New Things Would You Like to See at DL for Halloween?

I could go on forever about how DL could decorate for Halloween season:

    Main Street:
Keep its festivities with bats and jack o'lanterns everywhere

    Adventureland:
    - Indiana Jones entrance has wind-up toys/realistic rats and cockroaches skidding along the entrances, and maybe a few snakes in the queue to spooken the experience, and make the ride darker during Halloween
    - Jungle Cruise has more spiders, and the natives wear Halloween masks
Halloween doesn't really blend with Adventure, but it does with every other land

    New Orleans Square:
    Pirates of the Caribbean:
    - In the beginning swamp scene, it's covered in mist, and the crocodile actually moves
    - After the first drop, in the cave scenes, more mist comes, but not too much so you can still see what's ahead of you and the water
    - Bats fly around in the caves!!
    - Skeletons actually come to life and warn about Davy Jones' crew
    - The Kraken is attacking Barbossa's ship in that one scene
    - In Tortuga scenes, put many of Davy Jones' crew terrorizing the place
    - In the jail scenes, put Elizabeth in one of the cells, and spiders hanging from the ceilings
    - In the last scene, see a Davy Jones animatronic himself rise from the water
    - Speed up the lift ramp and scare guests with more spiders and bats

    Haunted Mansion:
    - Fog in the graveyard
    - In the stretchroom, have spiders hang from the walls, and the statues TALK, and maybe even projections could make the stretching paintings look like they're talking too
    - Downstairs, make the statues talk!
    - Put spiders at the area where empty doom buggies enter
    - In the Madame Leota scene, she summons an actual ghost
    - In the bride's room, show a half-dead cat, being her previous pet cat, right by her side, and make her (the bride) an animatronic instead of a flat projection
    - More pop-ups in the graveyard, and more mist (replace a more dreary and spooky Grim Grinning Ghosts song rather than the upbeat one they have now)
    - The hitch-hiking ghosts come along, but in the mirror, they grin, and in the last one, they "attack" (they jump out of the doom buggy and enter the mirror)

    Frontierland:
    - For Big Thunder Mountain, we're in a ghost town, so we add spiders, cockroaches, and a few skeletons in the queue and in the ride sequences. Actual lava could spurt out of the vents and geysers could erupt in the first lift hill... many spooky elements could be added in the dark scenes, and fog when you enter the actual ghost town
    - Big Thunder ranch could be decorated beautifully for Halloween
    - Rivers of America could also have the awesome fog I'm hearing about!
    - Mark Twain could have Disney characters dressed up for trick-or-treating for Fantasmic, and the architecture itself could have a few spooky themes
    - Pirate's Lair island could have spookier effects (never been there so I don't know what to add)
    - Big Thunder Trail is the place to have kid-friendly ghosts walking around, shaped as Mickey or Donald or Goofy or something.

    Critter Country:
    - Winnie the Pooh could have a trick-or-treat theme?????
    - Splash Mountain also do spooky elements like fog, spiders, bats, etc.

    Fantasyland:
    - The least spooky area of Disneyland, of course; decorated in a Bavarian village haunt fest where all the trick-or-treating stations are, and rare character meets (like Jafar, old hag/Wicked Queen from Snow White, Captain Hook, Smee, Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, etc.)
    - Thorns around the castle!!!
    - Maleficent dragon animatronic sleeping in wherever room there is in Fantasyland... her head could be at the castle entrance, her neck could appear from underground to veiwpoint over pathways, and her tail would appear and disappear the same way, all the way until the Matterhorn, so she's a giant dragon hidden under and above ground with only the head, tail, and limbs being animatronic
    - Dumbo could have each individual elephant painted orange or something spooky
    - Teacups could have jack o'lanterns instead of Wonderland themed tea party lights
    - Storybookland Canal Boats and Casey Jr. could have Halloween theme too
    - Matterhorn gets fog, actual snow effects, and cavemen encased in ice

    ToonTown:
    - This one's easy: decorate Roger's as a Toon-style Halloween
    - T'P the treehouse
    - Leave Donald's Boat alone, make it a trick-or-treat station
    - Gadget's coaster could have noticeable outside jack o'lanterns or witch's hats

    Tomorrowland:
    - Very hard to theme and what I say may sound ridiculous: DECORATE THE PEOPLEMOVER TRACK IN BLACK AND ORANGE TINSEL!!!
    - Buzz Lightyear could have a spooky futuristic theming
    - Star Tours, you can't do much with, except put a Halloween mask over C3PO's face, and put devil horns on R2-D2
    - Space Mountain, you can't do much with, except add fog and smoke effects for take-off into outer space, except like Rockin's layover, it's lit up to Halloween layover, and track is visible
    - Leave Innoventions alone
    - I don't know about the Submarines, I've never been on them yet, but if it's just Nemo, you could decorate the subs orange and instead of gigantic tiki heads, put pumpkins underwater or something, and light up the lagoon orangish with fog at night
    - Autopia could be vastly decorated to spooky theme with haunted forests in the car park area (the garden place), and the ad. boards have humorous Halloween jokes in Autopia-style jokes
-Astro Orbiter could be TP'd... I dunno, or a trick-or-treating station

Any good ideas I brought up? I love the Rivers of America and thorns around the castle ideas!!!

Re: What New Things Would You Like to See at DL for Halloween?

The Parade and Fireworks shows are great ideas. The parade would feature Stitch (a/k/a Exp. 626) with the pink witches and pumpkin people from DLRP, the Tokyo Disneyland ghosts, scarecrows and crows and a mix of music from both places ("It's Halloween-O-Ween" from DLRP and "Shout and Scream Halloween" from TDL). The pyro show would be narrated by Pat Carroll and feature many of Disney's most macabre music like "Night on Bald Mountain" from Fantasia and "Be Prepared" from The Lion King.
