    Innoventions: How much longer?

A couple questions to chat about:

    1. How much longer do you think Innoventions will last? Do you think it's going to be a permanent staple of Tomorrow Land?

    2. If there are plans to change it, do you think it will be completely torn down to build something new? Or will they utilize the building and build a new attraction inside of it?

    3. What would you like to see happen?

I think regardless of the foot traffic, they probably make enough money from sponsorships to keep it open.

It's not really an attraction. It's more like an infomercial. By entering you are basically paying to be advertised to. Unless the exibits have been changed to include some really interesting futuristic stuff instead of electronics you can find at your local store, I'm not going in there unless it's to get to the balcony for the fireworks.

In a perfect world it'd be gutted and the building used to house a dark ride.

Return of ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter anyone?

Seriously though, Innoventions has to go.

It could be gone today and I wouldn't miss it!
Such a waste of valuable real estate.

    1. It should have been gone yesterday... ok... a year ago...

Now that Microsoft is going in, and Honda is there, I doubt it will be more than a glorified tradeshow pavilion and showcase of Disney's branded best buy products...

    2. I would be heartbroken if they tare the building down...

    3. Something else... Either go back to a revamped version Carosel of Progress or America Sings - which is better than what they have now... OR develope something new... Even an indoor robot arm attraction based on the incredables would be better...

The new contract with Microsoft was signed last year. So it'll be a couple years before that's
done. So that means that it'll be around at least that long. (Guess : 2-3 years).

I'm pretty sure that there's a definite plan to upgrade stuff in the works for this Microsoft
contract. Things have already changed slightly. If you're asking for more radical change,
I don't think anyone really knows... I don't think it's a huge priority at WDI though.

    3. What would you like to see happen?
Personally, I would love to see a new show using the actual building (CoP). Put a bunch of AAs, Some 3D/4D
capability. Use the 2nd floor for really futuristic concepts (what happened to showing
prototype cars? like one that drives itself?) There are also futuristic books (ones that
    are on computers, but interact)

When an attraction host has to say to guests, "It has air conditioning" to get someone into Innoventions, you know something is wrong.

It's only a matter of time before they also turn that into a Cinderella suite too.

Maybe they can put the Cinderella suite in there!
Heck, they could put a whole slew of "themed" rooms in there!
Then they wouldn't have to ruin the Disney Gallery, and no one would complain about ruining a beloved area of the park.

    I wouldn't mind.

Unfortunately Innoventions makes quite a bit more money than The Disney Gallery.

    Re: Innoventions: How much longer?

Unfortunately, as long as someone is willing to pony up money towards a sponsorship (in this case Microsoft), Innoventions isn't going anywhere in the near future.

I'd love to see Innoventions swapped out when this Microsoft deal comes to an end. I don't really care with what; just as long as it's something fun.

Whatever happened to companies sponsoring actual attractions. I would be much more impressed if Microsoft were to sponsor an awesome technology based attraction or animatronic show. The brand would stick in my mind more because I would associate it with the happy times I had while on the ride.
