    Re: 50th Golden Memories.

As far as I know, the plaque outside the front of the attraction is still there. I'll try to get a picture of it tomorrow.

I don't have your answer but this was taken at Peter Pan. I hope they left them up - they really make a nice addition to the park. Sort of a "we are the original, and this is a true original" kind of thing.
As a Skipper I detested the gaudy 50th Mickey ears that replaced our beloved mask on our boathouse. THIS, was a classy touch, small, simple, barely noticed next to the ticket office... just saying We're here... and we've been here the whole time! THAT made all of us proud!

The auction event at DL, mid September, shows one of these plaques as
being for sale, so it appears that these classy little signs were unfortunately
taken down. It's really too bad that this part of the 50th isn't able to stay
as a B-Day present to DL.

Did they say which one? or if it was all of them? or if this was a replica and the originals are still on the attractions? More info please

sadness is all that I can say right now. To be around for 50years is an honor most businesses never receive, let alone an attraction in an amusement park. If anyone happens to have a picture of it when it was up on Jungle, please post it or PM me. This is one picture I was unable to get.

Jingles is my horse. Except her REAL name is Rose. My dad wouldn't let me get a picture on her by myself... and I almost cried. (Yeah, I'm a whimp. Hush. ) I mean, she's been '"my" horse since I was three. I think I deserved one quick picture on her by myself, ya know?

I didn't ride the Jungle Cruise for a long long while... It broke down on us once... and we were stuck for a couple hours with our poor skipper. He tried so hard. -sigh- So I didn't see the golden version. I liked the golden teacups, though. That was spiffy.

No... it was only for the original rides. While I didn't like the Congo's paint job I understood that it was meant to be an honor. Personally I would have been fine with just the plaque, and possibly a boat done tastefully with gold highlights, not Lowrider meets the Circus. Some of the 50th vehicles looked amazing, teacups and peter pan come to mind.

Is a Casey Jr. engine still gold? last time I was there it still was back in Jan 07

Even if there isnt much of the gold left theres still some on the castle and I like it. Its a little hidden tribute to the 50th if you will well in my book it is. It is 50 after all/

    Re: 50th Golden Memories.

I'm not sure of the Casey paint job before the 50th, but everything that was painted gold for the celebration (ride vehicles) was supposed to be restored to original condition after. I WISH they had kept the Congo's sign... that was beautiful... but it was great to have that boat back in substandard shape!
