I had a bit of a flashback when I was going through some photos. On the J.C. Boats I always encouraged people to take advantage of the golden vehicles. If there was a special memory or picture that they had with their parents/grandparents then they could take a picture of their own kids in the "golden" version. I only know of 2 parties that actually did this. One older couple honeymooned in 55 and brought us lots of old pictures of JC and the park. Later we managed to snap an almost identical shot of them in the gold boat. There was another lady who had a picture of herself with her grandmother in teacups... her daughter snapped the picture of "grandma" and the new little 3 year old in the golden cup, framed then side by side and took it back to show us a week or so later! It made an amazing XMas gift! So just wondering if anyone took advantage of the "Golden" times.
Side Note- are the 55 plaques still up or have they been removed? Also please do not think that I liked the golden vehicles. IMO The gold boat looked horrible. It would have been more appropriate as a spread in Lowrider. I asked if the purple dice and disco ball were missing because of budget cuts. That didn't go over so well with Management. Some of the golden vehicles looked amazing, others pretty tacky... but I guess it is the memories that matter.
