How is the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites?

Looks like I might be staying there in early August.

    Thanks.

Well, its not "Suites". The rooms are not bad. It is an old motel, it does need a refurb, but the rooms were clean when we stayed there. The pool was nice, they have small balconies in many rooms. For the price, it is fine. It is a walk (10 mins to the gate?) But, I would stay there again if I couldn't get a room in one of my favorites.

We stayed there in October last year and found it to be just fine. It's a great price -- especially if you are looking for a hotel to just put your head down at night! The walk wasn't bad at all - especially if you cross Harbor and walk (no other crosswalks/lights to wait for), and our room was at the far back corner of the hotel!! The hotel across Disney Way has a great coffee shop that we stopped at in the morning on our way in and the Anaheim Plaza has free meals for kids with paying adults.

All in all, I'd stay there again if I was going for a budget trip (which most of mine are going to become if I want to go every year or even more than once a year!!).

I stayed there last December for a few days. Nothing fancy. Yes it is older and is showing its age a bit but it was a good sized room and it was clean. The room I was in didn't have a microwave, but I think if I had asked they would of found one, but I didn't need it anyway. Did have a small fridge in the room. The staff was extremely friendly and accomidating. I'd stay there again, but then in a motel all I need is a clean bed, a pillow and towels for the shower!

Yes, but they don't have "suites". Their "family suite" is two connecting rooms.

Re: How is the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites?

I think they call their family room thingy a suite. It's just them opening the connecting doors between two regular rooms. It makes them sound fancier than they are. So, to be true to their hotel name, it does say suites. But Malcon10t is correct in that they don't really have any suites.

Just because it uses the term "suites" in the name doesn't mean much. Their idea of a "suite" is two ajoining rooms.....

Re: How is the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites?

I stayed there once and the room they gave us was on the first floor and very close to Harbor Bl. It was nice at first but as soon as I got all of the bags in from the car and went out to the patio, I noticed that the room had quite a few crickets and a couple cockroaches hanging out underneath the curtain by the patio door. Luckily, the front desk staff was very accomidating and gave us a new room on the second floor.

Also, the bed we had was like a padded rock.

In the end, I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again.

What year was this? I heard they have remodeled it earlier this year.

My family stays there everytime we go and we love the price. The rooms have not failed us yet. The short walk to disneyland is also great because then we don't need to park.

I stayed there last October. I don't know when the remodel was, but I should also clarify that the room itself was nice. But the weather the day we checked in seemed unseasonably warm and then rained in the afternoon, so maybe the heat & humidity brought out some unwanted friends.

As far as hotel redels go, I stayed at the Hyatt on Harbor Bl. in Novermber of 2004 in on of their newly remodelled rooms. The room was clean, and an overall wonderful room. Some friends of ours were in the same hotel in the yet-to-be-remodelled tower and their beds were MUCH nicer.

    Apperantly, remodel means crappy beds.

I thought it was great for the price. The pool area is extra nice, and the rooms, especially the dressing areas were very roomy. It has a lot of conveniences that other cheap motels usually don't have and the grounds were pretty. It is pretty dumpy, though.
