Snow White's Scary Adventures DL VS. MK

The Snow White ride at WDW used to end with the witch acting like she was going to make a large diamond (rock? I forget) fall on you. Then you go into a room where the lights are all flashy (I guess that is how you would feel after the diamond fell on you) and then the ride was over. It was called Snow White's Scary adventures. Snow White didn't appear in the ride because you were supposed to be Snow White (at least that is what it seemed like to me).

It was weird-one year is was all scary and the next year they refurbed it and it was just the story of Snow White.

We used to joke that you die as the finale for two of the Fantasyland rides (The original Snow White and Mr. Toad).

In the original version of WDW and DL's Snow White rides, it was intended for the guests to be Snow White. I wonder if DL had this flashing lights ending before 1983, it would actually be pretty cool.

Comparisons are all well and good but, story aside, I am glad it's different. For me to travel clear across the country to see a duplicate version of an attraction we have here at WDW would be a major disappointment. The fact that there are actually different versions of the attractions (not to mention scenery and lands) out at DL makes it much more enjoyable and well worth the trip.

Yeah it is good to have differences, but I like seeing which version people like the most. Some rides are definately better at DL (such as POTC) and some are a closer call (such as Snow White's Scary Adventures and Peter Pan's Flight).

Up until we went on the WDW one I did like the DL one, even though it was kind of incomplete. The WDW one is SO much better, it actually has a story and follows the movie. It doesnt just have the queen, and it makes sense. I am sure I am in the minority, but I prefer most of MK dark rides to DL.

But then I frequent WDW often and have never been to DL(yet)-so I might be a little biased.

Yes, *you* the rider is supposed to be Snow White in this ride. Hence, this ride was supposed
to mirror Snow White's experience in the movie and NOT be the movie.

So the original did NOT have an happy ending scene at all... it was literally just the "scary"
scenes of the movie as viewed by Snow White. Also Snow White was not
in the scenes at all.

But this caused a lot of confusion and consternation, so the "happy ever after" scene
was put in at the end.

In the 1983 FantasyLand redo, the flats were (yes, almost everything was a painted
flat before) were replaced with 3d figurines (actually the ride was reconfigured) and
in '94 (I think...) Snow White was placed in several spots.

So now that I think about it , if this was supposed to be viewed in snow whites eyes, we'd be asleep between that last two scenes and would live happily ever after....It's still weird and amusing though.

I always get a kick out of the DL version. I can barely remember the old version, but I do remember getting mad as a kid that I didn't get to see Snow White.

If you enter Fantasyland from the castle, Snow White is on the right side directly across from the carousel and attached to Pooh.

I love DL... but I haven't been to WDW in like 8 years and last time I went... well I didn't get to go on anything I wanted to go on.. I don't even think I have been on the WDW version of Snow White.... I love going on Snow White out here though... It barely has a line because it is so scary for the littleones and it has one of my favorite characters...

i like WDW's better 'cuz of the completeness factor.

Honestly Im going to get bashed for this, but I think they need to remove one of the Dinseyland fantasyland dark rides, Pinochio in my opinion, and replace it with a new dark ride or Philharmagic.

I don't like Phillarmagic!. Build a new dark ride in the motor boat cruise area.
