Do you think they are going to do anything special on Tuesday? There isn't anything listed on the schedule, but I didn't know. What do you think?

They don't usually do anything special unless it is a special anniversary such as 10 year, 25, 50 etc. The next celebration will probably be on the 75th. The 52nd anniversary is just not that special.
NOO!!! A few friends of mine were going to L.A. for the week and gonna hit up Disneyland on the 17th...they didn't even realize that was opening day...i wasn't able to go cause of stupid work not giving me time off.....![]()
Siggy siggy sig sig.
FYI, Disneyland opened to the Public on July 18th!
The 17th was a Media Preview day....

If it opened on the 18th, then why don't my golden mickey ears say "July 18, 2005???"...
sorry...but I'm a firm believer in the 17th!!!!!
Went to a party the other night
All the ladies were treating me right
Moving my feet to the disco beat
How in the world could I keep my seat
All of a sudden I began to change
I was on the dance floor acting strange
Flapping my arms I began to cluck
Look at me..I'm the disco duck
"Do the Disco Duck!!!"
I am going to be there :-) Maybe I'll wear my gold ears from the 50th!
And I agree that the official birthday of the park is July 17, 1955.
Aprille :-)
I love how for Walt's 100th, we had a small ceremony and WDW had a parade...
Considering the greed they usually plan something big every 5 years, then they either transplant a Florida ride or they add a float or two to the parade... amazing how many different roles the same floats have played!
"Happiness is a Low Water Level"
"Creating magical memories and making Managers cry since 1955!"
They always have some sort of rededication ceremony every year, and I'm pretty sure there will be a recognition of that Tuesday (7/17), kinda like the one littlecricket taped last year.
Sorry for the lack of linkage, YouTube can sometimes be a b****.

A Pin sold in 2005 with this on the bottom
And a printed card came with a pin with this question...
1st Day ticket, July 18, 1955
And the OFFICIAL publication of the park, The Disneyland News from July 1955
What individual bought Disneyland's first general admission ticket for its public opening on July 18, 1955?
Disney did celebrate the 18th for about 10 years, even holding ceremonies and opening rides on that date.
More than 50,000 visitors were attracted to Disneyland on Monday, July 18, when the Park officially opened its gates to the general public.
Then someone in marketing decided to make it the 17th.....
Sorry, but I don't care if folks want to CHANGE history, it is clear that the park opened to the public on the 18th.
Heck, why did the special tickets for the 17th say "International Media Preview"??
When is the official DCA opening day, the first preview in January, or the first day it opened to the general public on February 8th, 2001?
A Preview is not an official opening.

Do you think they'll do anything for the 55th since it opened in 1955?
