As to being "locked in" I am sure there are rules but I highly doubt you are staying there on your own without some form of security/hotel staff there to "help" you with your every need. The way I understood the promotional is first class all the way. I don't know any winners but if anyone does please tell.
My cousins LOVE the princesses. So I can see what you mean. I would stay for my sisters, so I could see that many people would be the same.

Oh I'm glad. Cause being locked into your room all night doesn't sound very Disney-like.

Re: If You Were Promised A One-Night Stay in the New DL Suite...

I'd LIKE to think if I got up at 2AM and had the urge to go stand against the railing where the Rivers of America are that I'd be allowed to as long as I was accompanied by a security person or some sort of "butler."

Re: If You Were Promised A One-Night Stay in the New DL Suite...

Would it change my mind? NO.

Would I accept it if they gave it to me ? UM... YES!

I still think this is a horrible idea for the simple fact that unless Disney is going to lock the family indoors and cover the windows, whomever is stayin there will be able to walk out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the the 3rd shift, which isn't the greatest idea.

On the idea of moving the Gallery to the old Skyway station, unless the park makes it ADA complient it will never happen. The old station would require a lot of changes to enclose the building, which would take away any kind grandfather clause.

But wouldn't the people staying in the Disney Gallery be... in the way?

From what I understand after the park closes, workers do important stuff... like paint and change lightbulbs. Or am I understanding this incorrectly?

Cause if I was allowed to go out of the suite at night inside disneyland... Heck yes I'd like to stay there!

No, because like I said a security person or "butler" would be with them while they made their journey throughout the park. Consider them a sort of tourguide, but without the tour. Basically they'd accompany you while you walked around, but would let you know which areas were off limits and how close you could get to certain things.

In other words I'm sure you'd be able to walk around on the paths in New Orleans Square, but you wouldn't be able to walk around the queue for Haunted Mansion. You'd only be able to look at it from outside. Which, to be honest, would be enough for me.

From what I understand the family's that stay in the castle suite at MK are locked in for the night, so I would guess the same would be true for DL.

That's exactly why it won't happen, talk about killing any kind of park illusion. We're always talking about how important show is around here and that would be REALLY bad show.

Bad show can only occur within normal operating hours.

According to your username you are or were a 3rd shift cast member. Did walking the park after hours kill the illusion for you? Can you never enjoy Disneyland again? They never painted or took the hose to turn of the century era Main St.? Maintaining the park outside of park hours is actually very good show in my opinion.

Who says anything has to happen to it? Just more dreams to grant! I know my dream has always been to stay in a hotel room.

As an EMPLOYEE it's fine but, it's something guests should never see.

No different than having Mickey walking around without a head.

What happens after hours and backstage is the REAL world not the fantasy that is Disneyland.

That'd be enough for me too! That sounds like a really cool idea, Joe!

Well yes, but no one is forced to go out of their suite, and some people would certainly enjoy it! I know that myself and many others find it even MORE magical to see how the magic is created! It made my day going behind Main Street, behind the illusion and seeing how close everything really is to eachother.

So while it might ruin the magic for some people, others would be thrilled. No one's forcing them to go out.

I'm not saying that some people wouldn't find it fun but, I would think the Co would want to keep people away from all the work that goes on during 3rd shift, trust me.

Like I said I do believe that the family's that stay in the suite in the MK castle are locked in for the night. So I would expect the same here.

They never painted anything in 1900? I'm sure Sleeping Beauty had groundskeepers.

It's my dream come true to be locked up in a castle by Disney.

When I'm staying at a resort I love going out and getting some fresh air at 2 or 3 in the morning and walking the grounds.
