As I said, this attraction has zero repeatability factor for me and that seems to be the overall consensus for regular WDW guests as well.
Exactly my point.

I also wonder how many people who want ATIS back have ever been on it. No, not a video on YouTube, actual butt in the seat. So many people posting about ATIS NEVER went on it. That attraction was dead boring by the time it closed. Nothing says excitement like chemistry! It was an attraction for a different time and would be laughed at today.

People have sanctified this attraction and it does not deserve it. Let it stay dead for heaven's sake. If it was that good it wouldn't have closed.

Well in WDW, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was that good and it closed.

Not at all. Adventure Thru Inner Space was like Fantastic Voyage - not a dull lecture in chemistry but an acid trip into the trippy shrinkadelic sub-atomic world! With modern effects it would still be a stunner.

Your description sounds more like someone who had never been on it.

Only by the parameters of this poll's selections. I would wager more people would want Adventure Thru Inner Space if you ran it head-to-head with Mission Space. Who wants to barf when you can be entertained?

Since EPCOT closed the Wonders of Life Pavilion, how about putting in Cranium Command, only an improved version, into the HISTA / Magic Eye Theater?

1. It's a Disneyland Original. Alien Encounter and Mission Space started elsewhere. Let's try and keep Dland original.

2. Technology could really make it special. For as hokey ATIS was, for a youngster it was very convincing, I thought I was shrinking. When I grew older, the science part of it facinated me. Fast forward 30 years later, we have learned so much more about molecules and now have technology to make it a totally immersive ride.

3. Forget alien encounter. I went on that ride in Florida and is scared the living crap out of my 9 year old cousin. So you would have 2 options. Bring it as is and not be very family friendly or tame it down and make it flat out boring. From personal experiance, I wouldn't ride it more than once.

4. It wouldn't take too much space. Take out HISTA and the top floor of the Starcare and you'd have enough room to make a ride that would fit the tomorrowland theme more than the past few rides (Subs, BLAB, HISTA).

Those are a few reasons why I think ATIS would fit best. Any thoughts?

Chad
I've mentioned this before on other threads, but here's an idea for a new ATIS:

I rode it loads of times. I LOVED ATIS. And I'd love to see a big people eating ride in TL again. ATIS can be as cool now as the original was when it first opened. The concept is still interesting and the effects could be stunning. It could be a great addition to TL (Again) if done right. I don't think ANYONE is asking for the mid 1960's version of ATIS to just be dropped back into the park. It's a new millennium and we're talking about a new ride for it.

It could be like the subs. A DL CLassic .... returned

Besides I seriously doubt that a "Mission Space" would even fit in the tight space we're talking about

You can add another vote for an updated Adventure Thru Inner Space with a thrill element.

I have an idea that's not new or ground breaking, but I think would be cool none the less.

Create a ride based on the Soarin' technology that started in the deep ocean, come up to the surface, circle the globe ( Major Location Fly Bys ), taking off for and circle the moon, continuing on through the Solar System, ending with a fantasy Disney Castle fireworks show.

Oh I'd definitely ride that. Kind of goes with what I've said about Soarin' for a year now. It needs to Soar us to places we (Californians) can't drive to visit and come home in just a day or two. Seems like a better idea for DCA where the technology is already in place. Great film idea.

This would definitely not be A DCA ride, as it has nothing to do with California. It could also be themed as a Tomorrow Experience.

I was thinking about maybe a Alice in Wonderland themed croquet game.

Great idea in Fantasyland!

Not so great idea for Tomorrowland.
