    Bringing drinks in?

    Howdy,

My sister is going to the parks today, so last night she texted me asking all the important questions, and there as one I didn't know the answer to: can you bring drinks in? I know I bring a bottle of water in all the time, but my sister is addicted to energy drinks and so is her boyfriend.... I told her I know there's the no glass rule, but I didn't know about anything else. I know there's the picnic area too, but I see people all the time with like homemade sandwiches and such so...

    Anyone know?
    Thanks.

Rock Stars are the only drinks allowed since they are made by Coca-Cola.

I was just kiddin' a bit there. Sorry, less than 3 hours sleep last night. I did see someone in the park with a Rock Star yesterday. I am sure Monster is ok. Not sure about Red Bull though... :-p

Like when Kelly, my sister, intially asked me my first thought was "she's going to try to bring booze in..." but she said no. She wants nothing but energy drinks or sodas... especially if she is surrounded by kids all day.

I think the "official policy" is that you can't bring in drinks from outside the park, but realistically I think they allow a few drinks (like water)

They'll only stop you if it's in a glass bottle, other than that, anything goes.

My friends carried around McDonalds and Carl's cups last week around DL without a word being said.

    Re: Bringing drinks in?

A couple years back, on New Years Eve, this group of people sat down outside Casey's with a couple bags from Vons and had their own private party. If it hadn't been raining, I probably wouldn't have remembered but it's annoying that I bought food inside the park and couldn't find a dry place to sit.

I've also seen Subway sandwiches inside the park.

I have carried in plastic bottles of frozen water, water, and Mountain Dew. Never tried a can - but I have seen cans in the park a few times.

Not sure if they will stop you for a couple of cans. We usually just bring a couple of bottles of water and snacks for the kids. I know a family who brings a cooler with them everytime they go, packed under the stroller, and they don't get stopped.

My guess would be to bring whatever you want to bring. I think they would just ask you to bring it back to your car or put it in the lockers by the picnic area if they have a problem with it. I can't imagine getting into much more trouble than that. Does anyone know someone who has gotten in trouble for bringing food and beverages into the park? Non alchoholic beverages I mean.

    Re: Bringing drinks in?

My experience is that they are realistic in their monitoring. I usually bring in a bottle or two of water as I have to keep hydrated for medical reasons. I've never had to explain and the bottles are in plain sight. They also seem to be understanding about drinks and snacks for children. No alcohol, of course.
They really don't want to create a scene and have a guest start out with a bad experience. If your sister is reasonable, there shouldn't be any problem.
