Re: Would you quit your job to work at Disneyland...

If I got paid enough to afford a decent living in Southern California, sure, I'd love to work there.

    What she said ^^^

But if I won the lottery...then I would work there and put my paychecks to charities. So basically, I'd be volunteering there I guess.

Also in a heartbeat! Having been a former CM and then going back to my normal profession I found the experience simply FUN! The $$ part was sad and working til the wee hours was tiring, but the experience was Grand..

Some might argue that the last items are a mixed bag since eliminating AP's at the same time as decreasing service and support would significantly increase complaints among MC'ers. Which some of them would love and they'd have a lot more time to spend on Micechat doing it without APs.
Well aren't you a little rain cloud in this parade?

Exactly. It's amazing how expensive it is to live over here. I would love to work at Disneyland but only if I could work at the specific spots I wanted like HM and I wasn't worked like crazy where I'm tired of the place. If I ever won the lotto, I'd totally do what clara said, put the pay I get into charities.

To the parks, of course. You probably have no idea how many cast members look forward to their days off so they can come play.

Most definitely. Especially if I could work the Storybook boats, or work in entertainment for a decent salary. The only reason why I haven't ever applied/auditioned to work in the parks is the pitiful pay (unless I got an AGVA role) and the fact that I would probably be forced to work on major holidays like Christmas (being with family at that time is just too important to me).

Maybe in the creative department but there's no way on earth I'd ever work as a CM.

I think that the answer for most people would be a huge "YES!" However, the sad fact of the matter is that being a DL CM isn't the most practical way to make a living.

You're right, and it's really a shame that Disney doesn't see fit to compensate it's workers for doing what is probably one of the toughest customer service jobs there is.

Can you imagine having to deal with thousands of "Joe tourist" types who hold you personally responsible for them getting their money's worth out of their DL vacation?
Its your fault if they can't cross the parade route, or park their stroller someplace, or because Space Mountain ran out of Fast Passes.

    That's gotta be worth something.

I would work at Disneyland even if I had to live in a cardboard box in the parking lot.

    Perfect fit.

That's about what you'd be able to afford on Disney wages.

Several Skippers have considered and are considering working the SS, specifically to have fun. I can say with certainty that IF we had our current job's pay and benefits we would be there. The simple fact is that Disney is not a family wage and as you grow older your priorities shift from "fun" to "family".
