Wow Well they have those torches out there and plants draping over so maybe one of them caught on fire.

It was a kitchen fire. They plan to reopen between 1 and 2pm today.

Actually, that used to be the case. I used to work for RFC and all locations had live birds. The company was bought by the Landry's Seafood around 2000/01 and it was decided to not keep the live birds at the non-disney locations.

I guess my timing is bad. I've been to two Disney Rainforest Cafes (the one at WDW and the one at Disneyland Paris) and didn't see the bird. Saw the anamatroic gorilla, though.

Which one at WDW.. the one in DTD or AK.. I remember DTD having live birds at certain times around the sign at the entrance...I guess my timing is bad. I had lunch at the one at AK a week ago today, and I didn't see any birds. But everything else was great.
As nice as the other parks are, we must always remember that it all began at Disneyland. Disneyland should be the crown jewel in the Disney crown.
Well I'm back from a day of fun at The Happiest Place to Work on Earth. Here's what I found out by talking to friends in Security and Custodial about the fire. (Note if you really want to know what is going on at Disneyland you have to become buds with Security and Custodial. Security takes care of the crap and Custodial cleans it up."
A fryer in Rain Forest kitchen caught fire which shot up the exhaust vents to the roof. The fire and smoke from the building was coming from the exhaust vents on the roof. Kind of sounds like a chimmeny fire. All day long was spent cleaning up the place and getting rid of water from the sprinkler system. When I left the Resort at 6:30pm Rain Forest was open for business.
I haven't heard anything about the Mickey and Friends car fire on the 3rd floor. That is being kept as quite as the secound jumper who was after the Grad night jumper. The last one tried to jump and take her kids with her. But you didn't hear it from me.
Jumpers? From Mickey and Friends?? Who'da thunk? The Happiest Place on Earth to Kill Yourself... and your kids?!?? Good Lord...

I'm glad there wasn't that much damage. The rainforest cafe always ends up being one of my favorite experiences every time I visit downtown disney.
I Loves the rainforest i hope everyone there is alright and i look frwd to mah tais there on my next visit
