Reports on boards like these claim that most of the Pavillion kitchen was gutted and re-usable pieces were moved to other locations. So reclaiming this venue as a restaurant is probably pretty far-off from ever actually happening. So, I agree that the Plaza Pavillion is a pretty good choice in becoming an "arts conservatory"

"The Disney Gallery at the Plaza Pavillion"

I think I like the sound of that.

How big, exactly is the Plaza Pavillion, I wonder? Is the kitchen space actually being utilized right now as part of the AP Processing? Or is the kitchenspace simply sitting empty or being used for storage? If the kitchen was completely freed up, how much space would be available?

This place is already open and functioning well most of it but I think the Winery at DCA would make for a nice location not the whole winery just maybe the bottom half. I havent been to the area in a long time so I kinda forget the whole layout of it.

Well, they'll see some good (and bad) art on the way out of the building, then.

Besides the kitchen, the large Pavillion porch areas could be enclosed like a period sunporch/conservatory.

The Plaza Pavillion at the end of Main Street is only ever used for overflow Annual Passport processing and sometimes for the Nestle Tollhouse Jr Chef cookie baking activity (do they even do that anymore?). What a perfect location for the Disney Gallery. It would be utilizing currently unused space and it would bring another attraction to Main Street.

DISNEY SHOWCASE EXTENSION MAIN STREET, U.S.A.; Disneyland
There's an extra little room on the side of the Disney Showcase shop on Main Street that currently doesn't sell anything you can't get in any other store in the park. Perhaps the room is a bit small... but I wonder if somehow it could be converted into a two-level showroom? A gallery on Main Street would suit the Main Street theme well and the Gallery would be a nice addition to the Main Street roster.

STARCADE TOMORROWLAND, Disneyland
Certainly, Tomorrowland isn't an ideal location for the Disney Gallery. It isn't necessarily theme-appropriate. Sure, there will be art in the future... but the Gallery just doesn't really fit. Still, there's prime real estate in Tomorrowland that is currently quite under-utilized. The Starcade is an interesting 2-level space that could be perfect for a new type of Gallery. Neon signage for the Gallery, a less-traditional approach to presenting the art, and you've got a new kind of art gallery.

SAN FRANSISCO BUILDINGS THE BAY AREA/GOLDEN STATE, Disney's California Adventure
The San Fransicso facades in DCA have always been a big waste of space. For a while they were actually used during DCA's failed XGames Xperience promotion. Apparently, the inside of the buildings is just one big empty warehouse, but with some money it could be converted into a nice galleryspace and be in a location that could easily be blocked off for lines during signing and product release events. Additionally, it would breathe life into a section of DCA that has been dead since day one. The only problem though is whether or not this area is planned on being removed once DCA's $1 billion beautification project begins...

CATAL RESTAURANT Downtown Disney District
Catal is probably too profitable to be closed, but the location itself is would be just too amazing for the Disney Gallery. The main showroom would be the two-level, glass-windowed structure that people currently dine in, and then additional gallery space would fill the rest of the restaurant footprint that wraps around the side of that chunk of Downtown Disney. An incredibly unique location, and with enough room for product releases and the print-on-demand machines. I wonder if there's a similar location in Downtown Disney that has a lease expiring soon?

I'm open to all of your suggestions above except for CATAL. Downtown Disney is where this store should NOT be as they already have a portion of World of Disney to handle some of these items.

And again, Disneyana on Main Street also caters to the same audience so as much as I would enjoy the Plaza Pavillion for a temporary Disney Gallery, it feels awful close and I absolutely wouldn't want them to start selling junk at Disneyana if this was to happen. So I guess no to anything else on Main Street as well, though if they were to do Main Street, Plaza would be the best location so far.

DCA San Fran district. Now, if this location won't be part of a major redo as part of DCA's $1billion budget, I think this would be a GREAT way to vitalize an area not being used. That gets my vote. It's not in Disneyland, but I think for events and such, it would probably help with crowd issues better.

Of course we're all on the same page that NOTHING beats the current location and it makes me sad that folks at Disney would cheapen Walt's 'future' apartment into a prize do do this. It's actually one of the WORST ideas in recent Disney history.

The majority of the kitchen was gutted, and a Tiki Animation shop was put behind Tiki as well as a hallway for the Aladdin's emergency exit. I do not know the exact dimensions but I would estimate it to be comparable to Lincoln's Lobby's at most.

So, did the Tiki animation shop take over some of the Pavillion space?

Thanks for the information, tech.

Hard to explain. The "Main kitchen" is father back in the building. You sit next to it when you are outside Coke Corner. That space then splits in half as you move forward with one side for Plaza and the other for Aladdin. They put phone servers on the Aladdin side for the 50th. Then they started gutting the main kitchen as well as the Plaza Side. They had to gut some additional room to make a medium sized Tiki tech shop directly behind Tiki. Also contractors got in trouble for not having a viable Emergency Exit so they had to build a Hallway to channel people from Aladdin or Tiki to Plaza. Again It could be done but I would be concerned about the limited space.
