OMFG, that was hilarious! And the sad thing is that even in the writer's attempt to be funny and sarcastic (both of which he was) he actually summed it up pretty well.
I especially love this part about the old parking lot...
Gone are the days of not knowing where the hell your car is after walking around for 18 hours in a 40 year old tourist trap and desperately wanting nothing more than to go home and jerk off in peace after your wife and kids go to sleep.
This is sort of scary because JUST this morning I was pondering DCA being open over 6 years <cue Twighlight Zone doo doo doo doo music >. And I was thinking about where Disneyland was 6 years after it opened.
That would have been 1961. The Matterhorn, Subs and Monorail had been added, TWO YEARS prior. Plus so many other attractions. And look where our little park is 6 years later. I hope the placemaking and other fixes work. I have high hopes.
