Smile Response To My "Remember..." Poster Letter To Disneyland

    Hello all,

As some of us on here now know (thanks to those who have supplied us with photos and info. on them) the entrance tunnels at Disneyland have a new poster regarding the Remember...Dreams Come True Fireworks Spectacular.

Recently, I sent a complimentary letter off to Disneyland regarding this new poster addition.

    This is what I wrote....

    Dear Disneyland Resort,

My name is Joseph Nielsen. I am writing in regards to the recent addition of the Remember…Dreams Come True Fireworks Spectacular poster that was recently added to the entrance tunnels for Disneyland. This new poster is extremely beautiful and captures the magic that Disneyland strives for each and every day. It is wonderful to know great pieces of art, such as Remember…Dreams Come True, are getting their rightful and deserved recognition. Wonderful job, Disney!

I do hope that someday Disneyland’s “sister park,” Disney’s California Adventure, will be getting its own collection of attraction and entertainment posters. Such posters would be a great addition to California Adventure, as well as giving it a touch of Disney magic!

Again, thank you Disney for adding this wonderful piece of art.

    Sincerely,
    Joseph T. Nielsen

I can't help but imagine the looks on the faces of the people who have to respond to these letters.

I imagine it to be a smile that somebody is taking the time to let them know about a job well done.

LMAO, yeah. He seems to be the usual guy who responds to (at least my) letters. Each letter I've ever gotten from Disney has been from him. He's probably sick of me by now.

That's obviously just an anagram for "Heedless Moist Soup Promo."

At a job I had during the dot.com era, we actually created phony people. We had a staff of 2, but had a virtual staff of 7 that had to deal with email correspondence. "Everyone" had their personalty and we would address emails as that person. You know, Clara the widow, Shawn the quarterback that can't play ball because of a knee injury and had to give up his NFL career, even Tyler, the recovering addict that would surf the net all day looking for a limited edition Monopoly board.

It was fantastic and free therapy to address concerns.

It sounds like you really care for Disneyland that much to write to them, whether it is criticism or praise. Thanks for sharing that, and I think it is great they acknowledge your letters.

Oh, but Demosthenes Spiropoulos is a real person... He's into many things, photography, anime and radio. He's a UCLA graduate, he lives in Garden Grove ands is rumored to have a pet pig named Chuy.

On the Internet he is quoted thus: "Favorite Disneyland attraction: Me.... I mean Space Mountain."

    Here's his "website" http://www.dmounited.com/

Thanks - it is always a good idea to give feedback especially positive feedback. We always seem more inclined to let loose with the negative. So for people to take the time to respond favorable makes a real difference. Let's think to our own jobs and how many positive responses we can count as opposed to the negative. People may be happy with our work but are, for some reason, too darn busy to say "thanks". Of course if we foul-up something everyone knows about it. I used to have a sign in my cube that read "Nobody notices what I do until I don't do it"

Re: Response To My "Remember..." Poster Letter To Disneyland

I realize a lot of people crave origional artwork for current attractions. At the same time there are some amazing concept drawings out there. If themed and used correctly I think they could be both a display, and add before/after comparison opportunity. An example is the "Tropic Miss" in the Jungle poster. Everyone walks past... no one realizes that boat never exsisted !
"Happiness is a Low Water Level"

"Creating magical memories and making Managers cry since 1955!"

I always loved the idea of the attraction posters and would also enjoy DCA having some of their own as well. To me, it posters help give those attractions an extra sense history and special importance.

I also think it's great to see someone write Disney when they are doing something right as well. So few people do that. I think the response felt like a decent personalized response.

Great idea about the DCA posters, Joe!

Re: Response To My "Remember..." Poster Letter To Disneyland

Thank you everybody for the kind words you said about my letter. I love writing letters to companies to praise their work and/or associates when I see and get great service. It's these letters and comments that help business know which employees are the good eggs and which ones are the bad eggs (sometimes).

I really hope that my letter will get forwarded to Mr. Weiss (sp?) and that he'll take it to heart. I'd love to see some posters start springing up in DCA. That park definately needs some extra Disney charm added to it.
