    Index for "Long-Forgotten" HM Thread

So many people have said that they appreciated the now-expired "Long-Forgotten" HM thread, that I've decided to put together a subject index for it, so that people who want to use it as a HM reference can more easily find the discussions they want without wading thru 2000 posts to find it, or playing hit-and-miss with the search engine. I'll post it on this thread, so Thread-heads, watch this space. If anyone has suggestions, put 'em here as well.

    Here it is:

    Thanks HBG2!

This afternoon I started to post my short Memento Mori for The Thread, and while I was typing, the mod closed the thread! Ack! Open when I started, closed one minute later when I hit the "Submit" button! Talk about timing...

Anyway thanks to everyone who posted, and especially HBG2, whose thread gave birth to some great insights and discussion.

    Looking forward to the Index!

Excellent! I was hoping for something like this, but scared to ask. This is going to be great. Thank you so much for putting the time and effort into this, HBG2.

I have a maybe off topic question, but I've noticed that the "Dead End: Prepare to exit to the living world" sign is gone. Does anyone know when it was taken out? I'm not even sure if I remember exactly where it was now, and I haven't seen it. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place.

I can't verify that it's gone, though I may get a chance to take a look on Friday. (I love being able to say that! ) If it is...well, part of me is sad to see a part of the attraction gone, but another part of me reminds me that I've always felt like that sign was out of place. The words themselves are cool, but the skull and overall appearance of the sign have always seemed a little...off.

So The Thread lives? I missed it being closed and I'm glad it will continue. I have nothing worth adding on discussion on the exit sign, however. Just making this post to make sure it ends up in my subscriptions

When they had to make the exit wider for Evacs they took the wall out that held the sign that is why it is gone for good

Here's a good example of how The Thread index will come in handy. I used to think the same way as DM about that sign, until....

That's interesting! I didn't realize that that style was "in" for a while. Heh heh, my name's got an abbreviation now...DM...

Re: Index for "Long-Forgotten" HM Thread

I as well, wanted to write an ode before the thread closed. sniff

Well, I have to settle for my smaller memorial in my signature line; inspired, of course, by the original from datameister.
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see? " - Alice

"If his brain's ran down, how can he talk?" - Jack Pumpkinhead
"It happens to people all the time, Jack." - Dorothy

"It seems the words on my mug are right: 'It is hard to soar with Eagles when you work with Turkeys.'" - Sam the Eagle

Honestly, I'm a little happy that the "Dead End" sign is gone. I thought the neon sign was a little ill-fitting with the rest of the ride's tone. It's like seeing a big iridescent In-N-Out-like sign in POTC pointing down the 2nd waterfall saying, "Super Secret Hidden Pirates Lair Here!"

It wasn't neon, it was just a plastic face over dim fluorescent lights.
