what resturants can handle large groups?

Hi ya,

Im trying to help organize a school trip to Disneyland I need some advice on where to eat. Our group consists of 38 people. Could any location handle that kind of capacity in Disneyland? preferably a restaurant and not fast food like that tomorrowland terrance.

If you're willing to fork over the dough you could try Blue Bayou. I'm sure they'd LOVE to get that amount of cash. LOL

As for "regular" food you could always do Hungry Bear. It's sorta fast food, but I find it to be good. Otherwise there's always The French Market. They have some darn good jambalaya.

Not physically in Disneyland, but right at the monorail station...Rainforest Cafe. We had our wedding rehersal dinner there in the afternoon which was actually a lunch. We had over 50 people and they gave us an entire outdoor patio up on the second floor overlooking DTD. It was fantastic.

also, it might be tough, vbut if you go between meals the river belle terrace if its open...also rancho del zocalos and in DCA there is a large outdoor seating area on the warf with a few choices...

...and I'm not sure how the Hungry Bear doesn't qualify as fast food when the OP excluded Tomorrowland Terrace. They serve the same things. It's like suggesting the Village Haus!


You might contact disney dining and ask them. They may be able to work something out with you...

I think you're pretty much looking at the Plaza Inn on Main Street. I don't think the French Market is going to work too well because of the size of your group... The Cafe Orleans is now a sit-down restaurant, but again, the size of your group might be prohibitive.

You may also want to look at dining at one of the hotels, although that gets expensive fast.

DTD or hotel restaurants are probably a better bet. You can call them in advance and have the seats reserved.
It's possible you could call DL in advance and have them rope off a portion of the "Zocalo" place in Frontierland or the Riverbelle Terrace or Orleans Cafe. No way you should try this on your own, though.
You might even be able to get part of a Billy and The Hillbillies show roped off.

We've done some groups of 38 before (our 17th meet had about 30, and some larger). Just plan on multiple reservations by multiple people, and then spread them apart by about 20 minutes.

When dealing with large groups, they generally split them up into groups of 12, so while most everyone will eat together, just plan on it being broken into the smaller groups.

Plaza Inn seems to me to have the best food to price ratio as well. You could probably order 20 meals for 38 kids. The chicken dinner in particular gives you 4 pieces of chicken (!), a generous portion of mashed potatoes, and some tasty green beans.

And the deserts are good for 2.


Definitely, the Plaza Inn is your best bet in DL park itself.

I agree with the Plaza Inn suggestion - although if you're willing to ride the Monorail or walk to Downtown Disney, Rainforest Cafe has less than stellar food, but has great seating capacity, and can certainly handle 38 people.
