Smile Need advice on route from Phoenix due to construction

We are coming to Disneyland in a few days and I need advice on which route to take. It seems no matter which we choose, we end up in constructionland. Normally, we do 10-60-91-57. Is there still a huge backup going from 60-91? Our choices are:

    10-60-91-57
    10-215-91-57
    10-60-57
    10-57

Which one should we pick? We don't mind a little slowing due to construction, but don't want to get stuck in an interchange that is a disaster. Are there any side streets we can use to bypass the 60-91 construction? Any advice is appreciated. Also, if you know of a better way I didn't list, please let me know
    I'd rather be at Disneyland!

I drive 10-60-91-57 most of the time from Phoenix, too.

But, yeah, that interchange between 60 and 91 has been
a disaster zone for well over a year. Recently, I did both
the 10-60-91-57 on an EARLY Sunday morning, but then
found out that the 91 was backed up due to the toll lanes
    being closed for maintenance. Yech.

When I took 10-57, it went really well. So that's the way
I would suggest. That and of course to AVOID RUSH hour!

    OMG! AVOID THE 91!!!!
Every single time we've gone that way it has been a disaster!!! Traffic, construction, horrible interchanges, fires in the mtns!!! ugh!

10-60-57 is smooth sailing... even during rush hour it is not bad at all!!!
I've only hit minor slowing ONCE just west of Ontario... nothing more than a few second delay!!!

Avoid the 91 at ALL COSTS. Esp. the 91 Eastbound at around 6 PM...Yechhh.

The 57 is usually reliable, but it's getting worse, and sometimes traffic overflows from 91 E to 57 S. So be careful there, and also the 91-60 interchange is messed up. The 55 is a good bet, it you want to avoid most of the traffic on the 91.

I would go the 10-57 rte...I live not too far from the 91/60 interchange and it's AWFUL!! ...I swear they've been working on that interchange since I was in elementary school and now I'm married!

The most accurate answer will depend on the time of day.

As always is my advice: have someone who is front of an internet-connected PC available to be called to check traffic on sigalert.com.
Call once when you hit Palm Springs, to check 91 and 60 traffics. Call every 15 minutes thereafter.

You cannot ride the train from Phoenix. You have to drive to Flagstaff to catch it.

...I should have known that. Does the Eagle still run thru Tucson? Wouldn't that be closer than Flagstaff?

The Texas Eagle does come thru Tucson
    so does the Sunset Limited...

however I don't know how affected you are by late trains in your area, however Amtrak is always late due to freight priority when coming westbound from Texas! Sometimes DAYS late!

Tucson would be about the same as Flagstaff depending on what side of Phoenix they are on! Plus Flagstaff is 30 degrees cooler this time of year and much prettier!

Definitely 10 to 57. I don't know about anyone else, but I've never found riding the train to be faster than driving. These days, by the time you mess about parking, waiting around, etc at Sky Harbor in Phoenix, then waiting for a coach at John Wayne, it's still easier to drive.

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Since everyone is talking about the train...

Has anyone rode the train from Tucson to SoCal? How long did it take, and was it fun?

As for the Phoenix traffic...I am hoping before April (when I get married in SoCal and spend my honeymoon at Disneyland) that the freeway won't be so "constructionized" when we travel since many of my friends/family will be driving from AZ to CA for the wedding and to get some Disney action in.

And I thought Tucson was the Construction Capitol of the world, I think Phoenix is pretty close.

heck no!!!!!! with transportation to and from the airport,
to the security check points, and luggage checks, limited
space for luggage, to renting cars or taking a gassy smelly
bus to DL. It's quicker to drive to Anaheim than fly ~ even
if you get caught in traffic.

My advice stays ~ avoid the 60 and 91 mess altogether,
go on the 10 all the way to 57, but again, avoid rush hours.
