What's the current status of the Motorboat area? I know they finished the work and put water back in it, but anything else?

Isn't it still drained?

what I figure is this... the sub lagoon needed an area to get backstage to a dumping ground... however the show building still has subs... so instead they drained and damed up half of the Motorboat lagoon to use as a transfer path of the old props being taken away... front half is still there and full of water.. back half is empty...
just my theory.. but might be true...
I think it is actually waste water backing up from the bathrooms at THE FORT, after being closed for sooooo loooong!![]()

...ew.
I think it has water in it, but I could be wrong.
Take me to Neverland...
Right...so it's status is "Extinct". It will be filled in sometime during the ongoing 20K project to remain earmarked for a future expansion.Originally Posted by Evan-500

Ok lets all walk through this logically:The Sub Lagoon is easily 10 or 15 feet deeper than the Motor Boat Cruise. The wall the seperates them has been in place for a long time and in fact may have detoriated or been damaged. Also the two water levels are the same so the forces against the wall should be relativly similar.
As the water is being drained from the lower of the two water areas the pressure of the water in the cruise would be exerted against that wall. That water in the Motor Boat Cruise is not or has not been actively part of the dark water system for quite sometime and is filthy as hell.
Now if you were gonna be a crew member, cleaning and redoing this Sub Lagoon and there was the possibility that the wall holding back a huge load of gunky nasty water was 10 to 15 feet above you, wouldn't you want to drain it for safety reasons?
I can't believe it...the track is gone...that's awful! That attraction fit in so well the way it went under the Autopia and whatnot. It just looked like it HAD to be there!
They built some dams, and now the "Fantasia Gardens" (aka old loading dock) area has water, but the majority of the area has been drained...
They are using part of it as a storage/work area for the working going on at the Sub Lagoon. They built a ramp to access the area...

Thanks darkbeer...it's sad. I miss the Motorboats and their atmosphere they added to the area. I recently saw them on a DVD which is what has greatly rejuvinated my interest.

And it's far more exciting. Motorboat Cruise was cruddy...one ride I did not lose any sleep over losing, and if they replace it with a heavily-themed E-Ticket (and giftshop), I'll be ecstatic. If that is the plan (no Pooh's PlayPlace or whatever FL is getting), I say BULLDOZE 'ER!Originally Posted by Evan-500
