eBay Auction: Bid on Rocket Jets Centerpiece Rocket!

I have made threads based on eBay actions before, but this is just TOO good to pass up.

    http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/Roc...spagenameZWDVW

This huge centerpiece rocket was modeled after the Saturn V rocket of the Apollo missions, and was surrounded by several small "rockets" in which Disneyland guests could ride, controlling their altitude individually with a center yoke. This rocket circled above Tomorrowland from July 1967 until January 1997, when the ride was dismantled by Disneyland during the redesign of Tomorrowland. It was later sold to a Disney collector. The rocket is massive over 30 ft in length, and exhibits general wear consistent with long term operation and handling. A wonderful piece of Disneyland history. Buyer to pay for transportation of rocket. Interested bidders please note: pick-up and shipping from its current location will require that the piece be lifted with a commercial crane. $20,000 - $30,000

Here is your chance to own a GIGANTIC piece of Disneyland history! Reclaim the true centerpiece of Tomorrowland!

    Live auction begins
    Aug-02-07 12:00:00 PD & ends Aug-03-07 12:00:00 PDT. Happy bidding!

Good grief, if only I had the money.

Of course, then there's the whole lack of space for it. Ah well. That's still pretty much awesome!

20% buyers’ fee - plus you have to supply your own industrial lifting crane and shipping. Working in an auction based industry and speaking from experience; it seems that loading could be facilitated by the seller and that 15% would be reasonable. I foresee an unsold piece of Disney memorabilia.
Vance DeBar "Pinto" Colvig was born on September 11, 1892. I was born on September 11, 1959. Goofy huh?

Hey, if every registered MiceChatter chipped in a few of bucks, we could keep it at Dusty's house.

I'm wet alright, but not because I want to "collect" this piece - - it should be restored and put back where it belongs in Tomorrowland!

Disney - - buy it back. Unless it's rusted through, at that price it's cheaper than making a new one, which you'll have to do eventually anyway.

Who cares about the neighbors? - - I'll keep complaining if DL never puts the rockets back!
