    Dying Wish

A few months ago I was at DL and during the fireworks show I spotted a hospital bed setup in the hub area. In the bed was a pale thin person hooked up to oxygen tanks and a heart monitor. There was even what appeared to be a nurse standing next to the bed. My guess is that this must have been a last wish for that person to see the Disney fireworks show over the castle before they died. I thought this was so amazing to see, it brought a few tears to my eyes. It really made me realize how special Disneyland is, and to not take the special moments that I spend with my family in this magical place for granted. If you knew you had one last visit to DL what would you make sure to see or visit one last time?

Wow, I wonder how they got the bed and dying person in through the fireworks crowd?

Maybe Disneyland WAS that persons family/friends?

I'd have been crying had I witnessed that.

I don't know about the rest of the crowd, but I would gladly give up my spot for that to occur.

And BTW, I would STRONGLY be suggesting to the folks around me that they do the same. Or face the consequences...

Touching story and it choked me up as well. It was so well-described that I could picture this person and their situation.

I can understand why they wanted to be there and I too would love to have that chance if I were in that grave condition.

Seeing those fireworks for one last time would be a fitting way to close out a good life.

How wonderful that person got to enjoy the fireworks and TinkerBell again (or maybe for the first time) - - that's very special.

Now, if it were me, I'd get some media to hear my wish that they bring back the Skyway, Pirate Ship and Swiss Family Treehouse!

How could Disney deny my dying wishes?

    Re: Dying Wish

As far as final wishes go, my family already knows that if I ever get to that point (almost ready to cross-over), they have been encouraged to take me to the Park for one last visit. It doesn't necessarily have to be on the last day, and I wouldn't expect them to do it if I was bed-ridden, but wheel me in and set me there (anywhere) and let me enjoy one of my last days in the Park.

And as a bonus, shove a Dole Whip down my throat! hehe

Possible but not probable. I believe they would more then likely have someone present you with a model of the vehicle or meet one of the WDI's who designed it. As to my "Last Wish" it would probably be a request to be taken to the beach, or to the mountains (depending on how well I can breathe). It's nothing against Disney... just not one for crowds, but if that person loved fireworks then I could think of nothing better then seeing an amazing display.

Well, that's a personal choice. Each to their own.

And, we don't know for sure that they were dying. (Aren't we all though.)

I've had guests who were on what were like gurneys or stretchers.

Granted, a hospital bed is pretty extreme, but there are people who have extremely debilitating chronic conditions that might require one. It would obviously limit what they could do but it wouldn't necessarily exclude a presence in Disneyland.
