    Re: Deaths At Disney Land

Debbie Stone, a relatively new hire into the park in June 1974, was killed as a cast member working the then-new America Sings attraction. She and I were part of the same oriention (now Traditions) group, and I spoke with her a couple of other times on lunch breaks and such.

As I recall, she was electrocuted when she got stuck between the moving stages on the attraction - in full view of a family in the front row.

I believe she was from the Santa Ana area.

I recall that she was very popular.

^ Yes, I read about that. Horrific death.

No one's done that. It's impossible to lift up the restraints unless you have superhuman strength.

And 3rdshiftcm is right, a man filming the ride showed a video in court of the man fiddling on the lock to try and open the door.

And some others I'm not sure about, like somebody told me someone died on Space Mountain, but I've never heard that before.
Actually, of course, the deceased person wasn't on the Columbia, they were on the dock and the tethering cleat was pulled loose by the Columbia and struck him and his wife. (also a CM was hurt in the foot).

You might try "More Mouse Tales" by Dave Koenig, for some of the storys.

the man who fell out of the skyway into the tree, he did it himself. After reading mousetales, I learned that the man reached out and opened the door. Luckily he was going over the tree.

Oh yeah... didn't that guy die on grad nite? Or am I confusing him for a different person who died on the monorail tracks?
I am a rabid Disney fan. Possible future Imagineer (already designing rides for it)... I've only been to Disneyland. I'm hoping to go to Disney World this summer for the first time, and TDR might be possible in 3 years.
