California Screamin' Was Stopped Last Night.

Last night the wife and I were walking around DCA at about 7:00pm and noticed one of the trains for California Screamin' stuck at the very highest point of the ride. We walked over and met a woman whose husband was in the car and she informed us he had been up there for about 30 minutes. Not fun.

One of the cast members came out and told us the ride was shut down because someone in one of the cars decided they were going to try and get out and attempt to reach for something while the ride was in motion. I'm sure it ruined the whole experience for a few people for the evening. I don't know what gets in to people to do this kind of thing.

I was wondering what it must be like to be stuck up there for so long? Anyone what to comment?

I would get a bit nervous....wouldn't want to be walked off that ride.
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

It was the smart thing to do, rather to allow stupid people to hurt themselves.

I don't think I could agree anymore! It's unbelievable someone would attempt getting out of those restraints.

Disney folks were very professional in how they handled the whole incident. And yes, the car is way up there. I'm not sure it was too fun for the poor cast members who had to work on the car.

Nope - lol. It did go through the loop to the next breaking point to get everyone off though. They did not take anyone off from that high up.

I've seen that happen many times (luckily , I have never been in one) but it must suck to be there , stuck at the highest point and not knowing what's going to happen next. I saw this happen on Goliath (at Six Flags) ..now that sucks.

Now, I'll turn that little mouse's dream into a nightmare Fantasmic!

The father who I mentioned earlier had an 8 year old girl who he was trying to talk into going with him. She didn't go and that father was in for a big "I told you so." There'll be no living with her now.

I once saw a train had e-stopped about halfway up the first hill. Forget about 0-50 mph in 5 seconds (or whatever) - how about 50-0 mph in a few feet?
I wonder if this was a cocktail-induced incident...

They should have put the offender on the tracks and then had the cars run him over a couple of thousand times.

I think that is what everyone waiting to be helped for over 30 minutes was thinking. Didn't see it happen so the scoundrel must have escaped.

I live 2 miles away from Disneyland if Walt would've built it at Riverside and Buena Vista.

    Nothing to add.

I just like the thread title's creative use of past and present tense.
