    Disney Education Programs

I've signed up to attend a Y.E.S. (I think it's called) Animation Class at Disneyland. These Y.E.S. classes are three hours long, and are run by Disney, and they have other things for 3rd grade through 12th about animation, physics, CA history, ect.

I was wondering if anyone has a child, (or knows someone) who has attended one, and how good they are. I'm in the 11th grade BTW.

    Thank you.

I have a friend who's a YES guide, and he pretty much rules. He could even make the churro lecture interesting. Never followed one of his groups, but he always talks about how much fun they are.

Not to brag but whenever they had some new tour the common management response was "Recruit at Jungle"... which made us laugh
"When will I get back to the J.C. ?"
"Well you would be switching departments so we can't guarantee you would get back."
"No thanks! good luck with that though"

But I will say that the Jungle did help a lot of us overcome fears of public speaking. Making a complete idiot out of yourself while making a 7.5 minute speech to complete strangers will do that for you!

    Here's the link.

    http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disn...me=YESHomePage

It's not that much, only $25 a person for just the class. But since it's a school program, you need to have a group of at least 25 people. I know of some groups that are going in a month or so. If you're interested, I could give you their info.

And my class is in a couple weeks. I'll post a review after I go.

Wow that sounds awesome. How exactly does this work, and does it actually take the place of school classes? Too bad they don't have something like this for college students!

The 6th graders from my school did the CA history one, but being 6th graders they only reported back that it was boring. Afterwards, they got the rest of the day in the park, so what do you think they were focused on while watching Golden Dreams? For sure not the movie.

Getting the heck out of that boring movie theater and getting on the rides, of course! A whole day at Disneyland, with no parents? That's HUGE as a 6th grader!

It's more like a field trip. I would love to go to a Disney school however. But probably won't do the College Program because they don't take many for Entertainment from there I hear.

Yep, it should be fun. The only thing I'm worried about is that 3rd through High School are all lumped in the same class. I hope they don't "dumb it down" or anything. My class is August 22, so I'll post a report of how it was the next day.

I'd really want to get out of that theatre! Golden Dreams better be ex-nayed as part of the referb.
