    Re: Sleeping Beauty Castle bling

Personally, I HATED the makeover on the castle, golden crowns and all...especially the bubble gum pink exterior -- even a nice light pink would have been sufficient, but it looks like Barbie barfed on it given the shade of pink that it is now, but it does look beautiful at night.

i voted to leave it as it is... the 50th bling was for that time.. and wouldn't really fit in now

I actually like the way the castle looked when I was a kid (70's), the pale gray/blue color scheme. I thought it looked more realistic but still whimsical.

I don't like the pink on the top section the way it is now, it looks a little to cartoonish to me.

ORDDU: The gold railings--which they left up after taking so much of the other gaudy trimmings down--just doesn't fit with the medieval theme of Sleeping Beauty. Perhaps those will come down after the next paint job that will be scheduled eventually.

I hear all this talk of the castle being 'realistic' and inkeeping with 'medieval themes' but to be honest I think that Sleeping Beauty's Castle is a fairytale castle and should look like a fairytale castle. Kids don't wanna see realism or medieval themes, they want to see a princess's castle!! Granted, I wouldn't want to see all the bling back but I wouldn't mind the return of a decent amount. To be honest I think it's never looked better

Funny how this came up. Just yesterday I ran across a photo I took of the castle in all its 50th glory, and thought how absolutely beautiful it looked. Doesn't hurt that it's about the best picture I ever personally took. I loved the castle then, and I like it now. Probably a little sparkle would be nice, but not the whole nine-yards.

Wellll.....Disneyland was built for kids AND adults....and, if "the kids" want to see "a princess' castle", tell me one Disney Princess who had a *pink* castle hmm.
That being said, I think it looks fine now, but would be ok gray too. I am so glad the crowns are down, that sorta "pimp my castle" thing was so atrocious!

But the majority of visitors to DL don't care about the colour of the castle being too barbie or whatever. I think it looks just fine, in fact, I think it only looks barbie pink compared to the fading dull scheme they had before

Why do you presume to know about what the majority of visitors care about?

I vote for the crowns to come back. To me the crowns made the castle look alot better then it does now. The way I see the castle now looks boarding.
