I like the new paint job. The bling was nice for the 50th, but it was time.

Ugh - no bling! And take down those gold railings that were left up after the 50th!
Count me in as one who thought the crowns were beautiful...but for those wanting them back (or wanting them at their own house...) a thread right here on Micechat last month tells us their fate! The crowns (or at least 1/2 of some of the crowns) are being auctioned off with some other 50th items in September.
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!
"Do you remember in kindergarten, how you’d meet a kid, then 10 seconds later you’d be playing like you were best friends?"* * *
^That's so sad. I wish I could afford one, or part of one. But, alas, I do not make enough money to do so.![]()
I think it was all very beautiful, and I'm thankful for the pictures I have of it, but I do believe if the party is over, the decorations come down!
I demand they keep up with the paint job, though. I have a friend who has a picture of the castle from the nineties, and it was so pale that the sun was reflecting off it and you couldn't even see what it was. I was really mad when I saw that!
To satisfy my curiosty, as well as to appease the anti-bling group, and for the general populous, I went in and Photoshopped one of my castle pics. I took out most of the 0kt gold roof tiles and trim, as well as toning down the pink of the castle. Now, granted, my Photoshop skills are... lackluster, to say the least. But, I think this gives us the general idea of what the castle would look like if it were toned down. Not brought completely back to it's original (boring) form, as seen in an earlier post, but, just toned down a few notches, overall. I didn't try to tackle the railing, because there's too many shades of gold in there to try and Magic tool, so I could change that too. But, y'all should get the idea here. And, as a comparison, I've included the UN-touched original photo, as well.
As it stands now

What do you guys think?
I liked the bling but it should only be used for HUGE occasions. The next time they could use it is maybe their 75th anniversary and beyond that the 100th anniversary.
I'm back MiceChat
Getting to see it for the first time during the 50th, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
And I still stand by it.
So there.
Yay, betrothal!
