Redstep's 8/3 Weekend PR (not really much T...) Warning, BIG!

Another day, another long weekend in LA with the heat and the crowds and the kids and the summer. The pics below may or may not be a non-fictional account of what did or did not happen.

For the full Flickr gallery, with full-size images (and more of them!), go..... here. They're uploading now, but should be done by tomorrow morning.

The sky was not accommodating on the way there...

A cast member was guarding this rat... in a Tupperware. Where did the rat come from? How did she catch it? Why is she not happy that she pulled off such a feat? Questions for another time.

    MSEP! I mean, DEP!

The Blue Fairy. Ever wonder where her feet are? Do they touch the ground, or does she just float inside the dress?

One of her servants. Are they paid? Does the Blue Fairy have a bank account?

    A train approaches.

Goofy is not fit to drive a train.

Minnie is distracted by something shiny.

    Mickey.

    Wah... wah wah wah.

    Mushrooms, anyone?

    Bulbs.

    Alice, more mushrooms.

The Cheshire Cat is scary with his lights off.

    A most curious expression.

    You're Late!

Pumpkin carriages probably smell bad inside.

    Cinderella doesn't care.

Does Prince Charming have a first name? Todd?

    Mr. Smee is not respected.

Peter is also distracted, by the same shiny object.

    King Leonidas... is obscure.

    This clown looks...bored.

This other clown is shocked by something.

    Dwarves exit.

    Fireworks from a bad spot.

Kaa is getting a little wrinkly.

Little-known fact: Monkeys like those blacklight posters.

Captain Hook has a fake chin.

Peter Pan's hair has a chin strap...?

    Princesses

    The queen, at it again...

    Dragon vs. Mickey

    My favorite shot:

    Mickey spontaneously combusts, again.

But he's okay, because he's Mickey!

    Finale

    Tomorrowland.

Afterparty, the best band I've ever seen, honest... some of those songs are going to be singles, I can feel it.

Anglerfish! Focus issues! (it makes it scarier, actually)

    The Crystal Arcade, night.

    This works on many levels...

    Day 2: Saturday

    Fun with Water

    Smug Owl.

    Goodbye.

Officially the most annoying kid ever. Insisted on sitting on each step and slooooowly inching down to the next... while carrying a stick... there were about 60 people all piled up. It was the juvenile version of the guy going 40 in the fast lane, but without a slow lane or a shoulder to fly by on. Also, he had his name and number stuck to his back.

    Want a drink?

Jack is not a good hider.

    Still trying...

    Ha!

Herman knew he had to make the 1-10 split to win the tournament for his team... could he do it?

I think these are boxers, but they have hooks in their hands... the olden days were a little more dangerous, it seems.

Esmerelda watches the world go by.

    Upside-down.

    Carousel water.

    Construction!

    Soda Bouquet

    Mmm.... DCA water.

    Maliboomer gets no love.

    Bubble

    Ariel is a tart.

    Snow White.

FACT: When I came around the corner, Mickey and Cinderella were doing the Electric Slide, as their handler sang. But, I had left my camera on manual focus.

FACT: After I got the second shot, I was told not to take pictures. Very strange.

    Headless children abound at DLR.

    Creepy, creepy Snow White.

    Mickey, Butterfly.

    Parade of Dreams.

I believe she's trying to invite me out for a drink.

    Ariel

    Mad Hatter's a bit surprised.

    Alice waves.

Cinderella has to sneeze, I think.

    Pure terror.

    The Thinker

    Dangerous Hub Hornet

    Partners

    The eternal struggle.

    Typical LA traffic.

    The saddest monkey ever.

Save it! By paying us too much money!

    Evidence. Of... something.

I thought they fired these guys?!

    Love the silhouettes.

    Will this continue?
Will they make it to the end?

    To see the thrilling conclusion...

    Just look one post down.

For those just tuning in, look about 1 inch up for the spectacular origin of this TR!

    Day 3: Day Harder.

Mr. Toad knows something you don't know.

Go to the light.... no, don't!

Aw man, now we're in Heck.

    The witch is still broked.

Bad exposure. But that's okay, because it makes it scarier!

Offensive, or a product of its time (1983)?

The guy in the middle looks like he's about to be murdered by the other two.

    Pinocchio is a boring date.

    Alice's Wondercontrols.

    Alice:

    Mad Teacups

    Booty!

    He got me.

    The Chest.

    Jack Sparrow makes his entrance.

Headless child wearing Stitch hat, rocking out.

Redbeard is trapped in a plexiglass tomb.

    Blue Bayou: Wedge Salad remains

    Candlelight.

Mommy, what's he doing to her?

Woody is reduced to dancing for quarters.

    Ariel looks a little hesitant.

Headless child v3.0, now with broken fingers.

    Tink is not well.

    On the inside, looking out.

    View down Main Street

Prince Charming looks like he just made a horrible mistake.

Spying on a secret meeting of the brain trust.

    Ah!

    Jolly Roger

Dead guy that I never noticed before:

    Agh! Big teeth!

    Barbossa? Is that you?

    Triton, Night.

    AfterParty returns!

    Remember!

    Fantasmic (again?)!

    Last call.

Well, that's it. If you made it this far, thanks for looking!

Don't get pictures?! Oh, I get pictures.

I actually got 15 pics of the mice, I just left them out. They're a little darker than the others (due to the costumes), so they didn't turn out as well. Here's one:

I can post more to my Flickr account, if desired.

    And thanks!

Thanks for all the comments. It was enjoyable... but I really enjoy DLR during the October - April period. I can't wait for it to cool off, it makes the 16-hour days a lot easier.
