I don't know why I was thinking about this, but I remember when there was Autopia AND another car driving ride called Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers...or something...like that.

WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK: Greatest *GOD-Made Place On Earth
There was an overlay to the attraction during the Disney Afternoon celebration at DL in the late 80's or early 90's. There were cutouts of RR on the Autopia and Gummi Bears cutouts on the Motor Boat Cruise.

Holy cr4p.
Then I DID hallucinate the whole thing.
...
O_O
They had the Tomorrowland Autopia and Fantasyland Autopia at the time. The Fantasyland version was the Rescue Rangers from March - November 1991. No, you're not hallucinating. It was a temporary overlay.![]()

I was getting worried there for a second.
I was looking at my screen like this: O_o
I think having two Autopias was better than one...it offered possibilites for overlays such as the Rangers.
I kind of thought the idea was strange. I remember wanting to go on the Chip and Dale's one because the track looked better, longer. But then Autopia was a crowd favorite, obviously. It's an OG ride. At any rate, it wasn't around for very long, was it! I had no idea it had that short of a life!
Rescue Rangers wasn't there long at all. Basically March to November.
The Motor Boat Cruise overlay lasted just as briefly.
