Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island

I got so mad when I found out they'd remodeled Tom Sawyer's Island. I guess it's a way to increase popularity, but Tom Saywer's Island is a classic attraction. How long is it going to be like that? How do you feel about it?

Actually, from someone who used to basically "live" on TSI, I REALLY enjoy the Pirates Lair theme. OSHA had pretty much ruined everything that was fun to play on...and now, the Island has life breathed back into it.

So, while I was a bit skeptical at first, I absolutely LOVE the changes now and can hardly wait to go back and "play" again.

Its still Tom Sawyers island, it just has pirates added in, and we all know Tom had a fasination with pirates. They did a great job, it is not Pirates of the Caribbean island, it is still Tom Sawyer island. I saw there last weekend and it looks like hte fort is pretty much dwon now also, hope to see someting cool in its place also.

I'm sorry, I must have been imagining the following:

• Jack Sparrow stunt show
• The Dead Man's Chest in Dead Man's Grotto
• Pintel and Ragetti in Dead Man's Grotto
• Elizabeth Swann's photo in Dead Man's Grotto
• The Curse from the Curse of the Black Pearl recreated in Audio-Animatronics form in Dead Man's Grotto
• Davey Jones' whisperings in Dead Man's Grotto
• Davey Jones' whisperings in the Shipwreck
• The piratey bilge pumps and capstan wheel in Smuggler's Cove
• The Bone Cage from Dead Man's Chest
• William Turner Blacksmith shop
• The destruction of Fort Wilderness

No, I had to have imagined all of that. It's not Pirates of the Caribbean Island at all.


Don't get me wrong, I actually quite enjoy the enhancements on an entertainment level. But aside from that, the Island is a thematic disater and an insult to the themed environments in Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.

maybe the lone ranger will save the pirate island but i think phase 2 will happen before lone ranger even starts shooting.

I went to that Island and I saw Jack Sparrow.. I yelled to him "Jack Sparrow your hot!!" thinking he wouldn't respond back he said in return "I'm just cooling off" It was hilarious because the lady next to me was raising her eyebrows because she thought he was goodlooking too! lol..

The only thing that is "Tom Sawyer" related now is the treehouse. That's the only 'attraction' that merely mentions him. Everything else is Pirates. Themed wrong like MasterGracey said? I think so, just call it like it is. And remember, this is only Phase 1

I denied this transformation for a very long time. Deny, deny, lalala.
But... I actually kind of like it. And I HATE the POTC movies.
But they did a really good job.
