I do agree with mamabot and I want to be sure the distinction I tried to make is clear. Kids: great! this is DL after all. Strollers: fine by me. Inconsiderate people: go away please.

I try to be polite to others, I just ask the same in return

I've got to agree with Mamabot and Libraryvixen on this one. Unless you have a young child you really can't comprehende how hard all the walking can be on them, even with afternoon breaks. It has nothing to do with laziness, at least in the case of my kids, it has to do with little legs.

Shawn is 6 and he's tiny, his little legs are active non-stop at home but that's not the same as non-stop walking through the parks and standing in line. Having the stroller offers him a break now and then. he's not in the stroller the entire time, he's much too active for that, but he is in and out of it. He's probably in it more than other kids his age, I know he was in his more than B was in hers when we were together, but it has nothing to do with laziness.

Also, with kids at this age, having a stroller can be advantageous for safety reasons. We all know what the park looks like after fireworks and such times, it can be a madhouse. When Shawn is in the stroller, especially at the end of the night, it's much safer and less stressful for those all around.

As for ankle ramming, I know I've rammed people before, but 8 times out of 10 it's been because of the Idiot in front of me who's decided to stop the entire flow of traffic to check the contents of his fanny pack.

I can say that when I have rammed into someone, I always make it a point to apologize. I've had it done to me and don't like so won't do it to someone else without apologizing.

True, but this thread was about strollers, after all.

Don't get me going on inconsiderate people in general. People who smoke where they aren't supposed to, jump lines, where profanity laden t-shirts...

    ...Deep calming breath...

    Probably fodder for another thread...

Thank you for making the distinction. I have seen a wide variety of rude people at the park. I have seen parents be totally blind to the actions of their children at the park. I have seen guests there without children act rude.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

Also... strollers are great to carry things in when the kids aren't in them.

Last Sunday, we watched a child be lowered off of the ramp on the right queue for IASW just so he could retrieve a ball he dropped. The CM ran over there quickly to let the people know it wasn't cool to drop their kid off a ramp to pick up a ball. The CM then watched as the parents lifted the kid back over the railing. Did I mention that the distance from teh top of the railing to the wood chips below was around six feet?

Ok, LV beat me to the acronym.

I shall use this post to once again profess my love for Gemini Cricket.
