I noticed this on my last trip. Disappointing.

    Re: Pirates with new effects

I seem to remember reading somewhere regarding the addition of the Davy Jones effect that the imagineers had wanted to make it more realistic with not only mist going all the way down but by adding bubblers below where the "waterfall" would hit the water's surface to make it look like the falling water was disrupting the surface. I believe it was tabled due to time limitations and the fact that they had a hard time making it work. Possibly in one of the next updates they'll finally perfect it.

They probably just replaced the lamps in the projectors. They have a tendency to dim over time.

Davy Jones needs a lot of work. The fighting scene looks better then it ever has.

They just need to get rid of the Davy Jones effect altogether. After ATIS left the park, that tunnel was the only place that compensated for its loss...

Frankly, I was noticing a degradation on the Davy Jones projection, I assumed they turned the midst down for some reason and it affected the special effect.

The DJ effect is pretty blurry now and there is about a 2-3 foot gap between it and the water.

Too bad because it was awesome when it first opened.

What they need to add to the waterfall effect is some "splashing" animation. There are mist screens out there with technology that will let you actually interact with the screen. I saw one where you can "draw" with your finger, creating a trail of colorful fireworks wherever the mist screen is interrupted. Why not replace the fireworks with water splashes on the ride, so that it looks like the boat ahead of you is getting splashed?
