RE: Cascade Peak as a restaurant behind the falls:
    >>If carefully planned, the new Cascade Falls could hide a great deal of infrastructure: a kitchen, tech support, cast area, etc - it doesn't just have to be a mountain of dirt and concrete<<

Yes. That way, it's scenic, it's a filter for the River - - AND it's a revenue generator!

Not that I am doubting that a waterfall filter naturally filters water... but considering the duck, diesel fuel, solvents, pyrotechnics, park maps, and everything else in there I'm shocked the catfish still survive.

Cascade as a restaurant... I can see that... depending on room of course.

Where exactly was Cascade Peak located on the Rivers of America? Could you only see it from the river or the old Mine Train?

it's not much different than the Main Street vs. New Orleans station(s): it's a very short trip, but lets you out in another time / world.
Looking over the aerial photos, I'm seeing that the distance isn't quite as small as I thought, though it's still shorter than the one from Main Street to New Orleans Square. I concede that the idea is not nearly as bad as I thought it was at first.

ROA is shaped somewhat like a very wobbly figure-8. If you find the bit of land that juts out of Frontierland on the right side of that 8, right around the middle, that's where Cascade Peak used to be. Check out this aerial photo so you can see what I'm talking about. Now, I have no memory of seeing Cascade Peak in person, so what I'm about to say is just a very well-educated guess, but I think it was somewhat visible from the heart of Frontierland, and probably a little bit from the easternmost parts of NOS. It wasn't all that tall, and it was kind of built a little bit around the bend from much of the park's walkways. If it still existed today, the southern part of Big Thunder Trail would offer impressive views of its backside. While Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland was still in place, it covered that whole area where BTT is now.

They have a track layout/ aerial photo overlay in the Bring Back Mine thread which shows you exactly where Cascade was.

I believe it is the bend of track that can see from Twain that Cascade Peak is found.
