    We have a cutting problem

Has anyone noticed that Line cutting has grown over the past two years? I notice people coming in through the exit in space to cut in line and on many other attractions. This is just nonsense

I've seen especially prevelant on the subs lately...however I don't know which is the lesser of two evils...making fussy whiny children wait 2 hours in line, or having them cut in the last 15 minutes.

    Never the less....it's still annoying

When I worked at the park I would see it all the time. You could always tell the people who were going to cut in line. They just had a certain shady look to them.

The main thing that helps is that 90% of the time, no one says a thing to them and if they do they usually wait until they've gotten all the way to the ride(usually really quietly, almost whispering) and the perps are on it. I don't know if they're afraid or what but I do know that if someone cuts in front of me they'll hear about it.

Coming in the exit isn't going to work. If you go one direction, you end up on the wrong side, and if you go the other way, that is the handicap entrance, and they radio who is coming up and how many in the party. When you arrive you are met by the handicap grouper who will determine where you will go. If you aren't the correct party, you will be sent back down. We use this entrance during our visits. Please don't think we are cutting, we have usually waited at least an hour, usually 15-30 minutes longer than the standby line, at the exit waiting our turn to proceed to the gate.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Both Magic Mountain and Knott's have responded and are now handing out numbered tickets when you enter the queue on popular (aka long waits) attractions.

4 people enter, 4 tickets, and then near the boarding area, they collect the tickets, and check the order. No cutting to "meet your friends already in line", no letting "extra" friends join the group. Basic and simple, it only costs a few dollars per hour (2 employees and the cost of printing the tickets) maybe $40 or a bit less total, and only on busy days.

If someone needs to run to the restroom or wants to grab a drink, no problem, as they have a ticket, so long as they join the queue before getting to the front.

I thought you were talking about a different type of cutting.

No, I haven't noticed an increase in cutting at least not in lines.

I don't think it's increased at all. People have always been jerks.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
