I think this was just a false rumor started by some ride operator at Knott's in the hopes that people would avoid Disneyland and go to Halloween Haunt.

Thank goodness, I'm going next week.
Would be nice if the OP would respond to this.![]()

Thank you all for your help!
Hopefully they can get the air conditioning units fixed on the subs. AC going out is one of the top reasons that subs get pulled from the line and decrease capacity.
You may not think this will be a problem in the winter, but whenever you have that many bodies in a confined space- it will be hot.

I've never thought it was hot in the subs the times that I've gone and they've been full each time I went in one.![]()

If they're losing subs each day with A/C failure that IS a big problem. And the Skipper is going to be the first to know about it because the Conning Tower gets all the sun, plus 'hot air rises'...
People sitting around generate appx. 600 BTUH of body heat each along with a lot of moisture from perspiration, and that heat & water has to be gotten rid of somewhere or you've just created a Sauna...
I did the calcs: Put 45 people (counting the Skipper) in a confined space like the Subs, and if you can't bring in lots of cool outside air to exchange and drive the heat out you will need roughly 3 Tons of A/C (a medium sized house unit) to get rid of the heat.
Sounds like a good fall "running rehab" job to rework the A/C Units one at a time at the Marine Research Outpost (aka the Subs service dock). And they don't have to announce anything if the ride is only 'running at limited capacity'.
