I visited the First 50 Magical Years exhibit in the Opera House lobby over the weekend (as I am wont to do), and noticed something I hadn't before: In the scale model of the park on opening day, there was an attraction called "The World Beneath Us" in Tomorrowland, next to Circarama. I have never heard of this attraction before. While the park opened several decades before I came into this world, I still consider myself fairly well informed about what was there when it opened, and this is the first time I have ever heard about The World Beneath Us. I asked the CM working there about it, and he said he had never noticed it, either, but was so helpful and went to find an answer for me (I made sure to give him a shout-out at City Hall, cause he was really great, and went out of his way). He said it was an animated feature about drilling for oil, and ran until about 1957 (though my on-line research tells me it was 1960). So... I'm just wondering of any of you out there who were fortunate enough to visit the park in its first years remember anything about this attraction? Or anyone who didn't experience it personally, but still knows anything about this? It was very exciting to learn about something new!

Yeah, it sounds like maybe it was a little "edumacational"... I probably wouldn't have been too interested at the time, either. But now I am so intrigued!
