Character Dining For Half the Cost

I was originally going to post this in reply to Darkbeer's post about the increase in price to Character Buffet Dining. But I figured to start a new thread on it entirely. I realize that some of you out there know about this, but I post this for anyone new to the resort who would like a Character Dining Experience for half the cost of the Buffet.

The Paradise Pier Hotel offers an a la carte breakfast menue during the Character Breakfast with Lilo and Stich. The Character Breakfast experience is the same except you can order off of a menu, for a resonably priced (by Disney standards) breakfast. The Paradise Pier is the only resort Chracter Dining Experience that offers this option and it is only available for breakfast. Some MC'ers might know this, but I am posting specifically for people who might not be as familiar to the resort. These prices are valid through the announced date of the price increase.

Good to know - - but who wants to eat with Lilo and Stitch?

Hey - - they should have EggMcMuffins with the cast of "Atlantis" over on Harbor!

There are other Chracters who come over to visit besides Lilo and Stich, they are just the hosts. Although I probably couldn't tell you which characters those are.

You can also order a la carte at the Storyteller's character breakfast as well.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

So you can just show up, order a la carte, sit down and participate in the character meet and greets? Most of those breakfast items sound really good! (I am a sucker for A)breakfast and B)costumed characters!)
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

Yep you get the same chracter experience you would without ordering the 30.00 buffet.

I'm not a huge fan of costumed chractes, but as a fat man I can definitly get behind the idea of breakfast and it's less popular cousin lunch.

Yep, we've been there and done that!

In fact, we'll be back in October for another fine meal.

    Thanks for posting!

Re: Character Dining For Half the Cost

We went to the L&S breakfast a couple of weeks ago. We hadn't been since it was Minnie & friends. The only other character we saw was Daisy. The food selection was not that great. The Boy was disappointed with the buffet because he couldn't find just plain old scrambled eggs. He ended up with a waffle, pancakes and 2 bananas.

What really made me decide not to ever go there again was the photo people.

You are taken to the photo people to have your picture taken with a character. No biggy. Not a problem. The problem was that they then come to your table, with the picture already printed out and try to sell it to you while you are eating. The first person who came to our table did not want to take no for an answer. She kept hammering the fact that they had already printed the pictures out for us and made it sound like we are obligated to buy. Ummm...NO! After I told her no several times she left. 10 mins later ANOTHER person came by with our pics. I told the 2nd one that I had already said no many times and that I didn't really appreciate having a bad picture being forced on me.

I do have to say that our waitress was wonderful and the wait staff, in general, was excellent.

I'll be there next week, enjoying the breakfast on Sept 8th. I already made priority seating reservations...does this mean I'm locked into the buffet? I do NOT eat enough to make a buffet worth it but oddly enough my little boys do! They can each eat like they have a hollow leg LOL!

Is that true in general? Do they do the hard sell on the photos taken at the character breakfasts? That would be enough to make me never want to try them.

Depends on wether or not you prepaid for your character breakfast as part of a package, i.e Costco, Walt Disney travel etc. If you did, you're now stuck with it, if not you can always cancel before you get there.

This is the only one I have had a problem at.

Uhm... they do WHAT?! I am mildly offended! I can't believe they'd print it out!! They shouldn't have any rights to printing a picture of you and your children without consent! How do you know what they do with it once you turn them down? I'd take that one to City Hall!

Um... in the years BEFORE digital photo viewing, they printed out EVERY picture the professional photographers took in the park. And don't worry, the pictures are trashed within a few days.

I'd leave that one alone since it's REALLY not a big deal at all.
