What we SHOULDN'T expect on July 17th

    1. A lovely walk through the park
We all know the park will be jam-packed. Do not get there expecting to be able to take your time, your movement throughout the park will be dictated mostly by the person behind you.
    2. Roy E. Disney reading the dedication
Although Roy has reconciled with the company, he had to decline due to taking part in a sailing race on the day.
    3. Diane Disney making an appearance
Diane and husband Ron Miller will appear at the park on July 16th, but seeing as the Millers never actually forgave Eisner for ousting Ron from the CEO position (even though it was actually Diane's cousin's fault) I wouldn't count on the three sharing a stage.
    4. A ride to be closed
Just like July 4th, every ride will be open at full capacity to get those guests off the walkways and into showbuildings.
    5. Food - after 11am
Unless you are eating at a sit-down resturant, I expect that whatever counter and ODV food there is available to be gone by 11-12. People will be thinking ahead and will be filling up early, I suggest you do the same.

And by the way, have a great day if you are going! I advise you to take a time to think what has been accomplished in fifty years - and what remains on 17/7/2005 that was there on 17/7/1955.

The Disneyland Press Release states she will be part of the 10 AM ceremony on Sunday, July 17th.

    4. A ride to be closed
Just like July 4th, every ride will be open at full capacity to get those guests off the walkways and into showbuildings.

Rides can break down at any time, especially when they are run at the maximum capacity... While hopefully it won't happen, be prepared to find an attraction "101". A good guess, Indiana Jones will have at least one closure that day, but will reopen after an hour or so.... And maybe even Space Mountain, as it is still going thru the shakedown phase.

    5. Food - after 11am
Unless you are eating at a sit-down resturant, I expect that whatever counter and ODV food there is available to be gone by 11-12. People will be thinking ahead and will be filling up early, I suggest you do the same.

This one is just plain crazy, Disney is expecting a capacity crowd, and is planning for it... while you might find a few items have run out later in the day, there will be plenty of food in the parks. The bigger question, how long of a line will there be to get the food!
