A new DCA coaster

After reading the "Defending the Kingdom" article I came up with this idea to replace the Ratatouille coaster since it has nothing to do with California. The ride would use a spinning mouse indoor coaster like Crush's Coaster at WDS but the ride vehicles would be made to look like cable cars and seat four. The ride would be a trip through the streets of San Francisco, going up and down hills making tight turns spinning down Lombard Street... I think it would be a better addition to DCA and better way to represent the Bay Area. It would use the Palace of Fine Arts as the entrance and the show building would be built along the performance corridor. Below is a pic of the area.

Re: A new DCA coaster

Very good. I like that idea. The real Lombard Street is a roller coaster already! lol

Re: A new DCA coaster

Good idea, but it seems like it would have to be a pretty big coaster to cover the area that you have highlighted.

Re: A new DCA coaster

I like the idea... it just needs to be shifted to the right to make as much room for Little Mermaid as they need... then you can build it

I like the possibilities. Maybe even a portion of it going through Chinatown district during Dragon festival, with firecrackers and such. It also keeps the California theme going in the park.

Re: A new DCA coaster

What a gret idea! What if they added an earthquake effect too? It could be a really cool effect.

Re: A new DCA coaster

I don't mind the idea and it might even be fun. That being said...

I think the problem that DCA has had -- and will continue to have -- is if they theme their future attractions to California. It's fine if the exteriors of the park attractions and buildings resemble aspects of the state, but the rides should just remain as Disney fare.

I think most of DCA's problems have had much to do with its identity crisis and I think DCA would be best to minimize the influence of California on any future attractions.

Almost at every turn, the locals have been harshly critical of Disney's efforts when it comes to the California aspects of the park and I think it's time for Disney to stop trying to force the California theming on a park where the audience will likely never embrace it.

The point...just like Matterhorn's top...

The point is that according to Bill Cosby in his classic "Driving" monolgue is that are flowers on Lombard Street because of all the people there who have tried who died.
