Why Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth for me.

I know I complain a lot on these boards, but I wanted to start a thread that explains why I care so much about Disneyland in the first place. It is a timeless place full of wonderous and diverse adventures. I love being immersed in other worlds and no place does that better than Disneyland.

    I love:
Seeing the Castle walking up and down Main Street.
Exploring the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Taking a cruise in deep jungles.
Taking a tour of a Haunted Mansion.
    Setting sail with pirates.
    Visting New Orleans.
Getting on a log flume and being thrown into the stories of Brer Rabbit.
Riding a haunted mine train in the old southwest that encounters an earthquake.
Visiting a European village with the most interesting weathervanes.
Going for a wild joy ride through London that ends in Hell.
    Flying to Neverland.
    Evading the Evil Queen.
    Escaping Pleasure Island.
Riding a bobsled down the Matterhorn mountain.
    Visiting Wonderland.
Going on a crazy cab ride through Toontown.
I may not like sailing around the world, but I sure like the facade of IASW.
Taking a tour of the Star Wars universe which leads to being involved in the Death Star trench run.
Rocketing through space after launching from a space port known as Space Mountain.
Traveling back to the time of Dinosaurs.
I just love being in this place. It just has a great charm and a sense of peace even if things are chaotic. Thanks Walt.

Those are the reasons why Disneyland is my Happiest Place on Earth.

    Well said, sir.

For me it is as simple as the journey taking such a long time, and it literally feeling like a different world when I arrive.

I concur. It's nice to read a celebratory thread for a change and I endorse it fully.

To me it's a place where I can forget all of my worries and be a kid again. I can run from ride to ride thrilling in the adventure of sailing with pirates or hurtling through space. Or I can sit on a bench and watch happy children forming the memories they will hold dearly for the rest of their lives.

It really is a magical place and I can't wait to get back!!

I love Disneyland for several reasons...
I love the fact that as soon as I enter the gate, I am filled with joy and the outside world seems to vanish.
I love that I have so much family history there (my family are native so-cal residents, and my mom went to D-land in it's first operating days)..
I love the fact that I can be a kid again.
Everything is more romantic at Disneyland.
It's just an amazing place, any way you look at it.

6 hours and 29 minutes from the Happiest Place on Earth

Re: Why Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth for me.

For me, it's the atmosphere. You walk into Disneyland and you can instantly feel that this place is different. Walt wanted his park to be unlike others at the time, and he succeeded. You're transported to a place far away that's meant to make you happy.

I love seeing all the details. I never tire of looking for the "hidden" things. I love going on all the rides that completely immerse you in their stories.

You're wrong, Brer Rabbit, why would I want to be home when I can be at Disneyland?!?

Re: Why Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth for me.

I love Disneyland simply because it's there. I moved every few years as a kid, making it hard to have friends. Disneyland was there. Always was. I could go there, and I could feel like I belonged. That I was connected to everyone else simply because they were there with me.

Now it's because as soon as I step through the gate, I'm safe. I can be nice to everyone, I can interact with strangers... Also, when you walk in your skin tingles. You feel connected to... magic, I suppose. You can feel it sparkling around. It's a really nice feeling. I also love the smell of Disneyland, and how as soon as you walk in, that's it. Your there. nothing else matters.

    It's really nice.
