^ You don't think that if Disney thinks they could get away with charging extra, they wouldn't?
But then, I seriously doubt to see the following prices show up next Monday...
Premium AP's, no blockout dates, free parking and selected discounts.
Disneyland Only, $389, 2-Park $499 (about the same difference in price as back in 2001, $199 vs $299, just inflation and "demand").
And then a Deluxe Disneyland only AP for $269 and $359 for a 2-park.
SoCal's at $189 for a Disneyland only and $249 for a 2-park.
SoCal Selects at $149 for a Disneyland only, and $179 for a 2-park.
But I don't see Disney doing that, and why? Because the general public won't pay the prices. Because if they would, Disney would be charging them.
Disney made a very clear business decision in the fall of 2001, that many AP holders would opt to switch back from a 2-park AP to a DL only, so they removed the option, and lowered the price of 2-park AP's to be about the same price as the former DL only AP's. And I know that Disney would love to do it again, if they could get enough folks to buy the higher priced AP's, and get enough folks through the turnstiles....
But of course, Disney's actions speak much louder than words do
