Re: Would you prefer a DIsneyland Park Only AP instead of a 2-park AP?

^ You don't think that if Disney thinks they could get away with charging extra, they wouldn't?

But then, I seriously doubt to see the following prices show up next Monday...

Premium AP's, no blockout dates, free parking and selected discounts.

Disneyland Only, $389, 2-Park $499 (about the same difference in price as back in 2001, $199 vs $299, just inflation and "demand").

And then a Deluxe Disneyland only AP for $269 and $359 for a 2-park.

    SoCal's at $189 for a Disneyland only and $249 for a 2-park.

SoCal Selects at $149 for a Disneyland only, and $179 for a 2-park.

But I don't see Disney doing that, and why? Because the general public won't pay the prices. Because if they would, Disney would be charging them.

Disney made a very clear business decision in the fall of 2001, that many AP holders would opt to switch back from a 2-park AP to a DL only, so they removed the option, and lowered the price of 2-park AP's to be about the same price as the former DL only AP's. And I know that Disney would love to do it again, if they could get enough folks to buy the higher priced AP's, and get enough folks through the turnstiles....

But of course, Disney's actions speak much louder than words do

Yeah but if they guests aren't going there, Disney would have to do something hence making the AP's a 2 park ticket. Now if you lowered the price, that would be different.

More of us are hooked on DCA than we like to think.

What I think speaks louder than words is the results of the poll you made, I am sure it has had the exact opposite result than what you had hoped for..

Really DB - whats the point of making so many anti-DCA topics? The people have spoken, and quite loudly.

Count me in! I have no problem paying extra for DCA. I enjoy the park a lot. You could say I'm hooked.

Looks like a lot of folks don't have an high opinion of DCA.
Yeah. an average rating of 4 stars out of 5 really stinks.

I still find it funny that many people like their 2-park AP so they can "escape" or "seek refuge" from the crowds at DL for a few hours.

considering DL was not built for the type of crowds that go there and DCA was built for crowds it makes sense. DL has two many narrow walkways which bottle neck. It's not fun fighting crowds all day long. Adventureland is nightmare. The entrance to tomorrowland is a joke. Fantasyland is an obstacle course of strollers and running kids....that leaves frontierland and critter country, but even the area around HM bottlenecks up. We usually hit DL early. Around non we go to DCA, because DL is getting to crowded. (this is if we are there for day trips). I avoid the nightmare of DL at night.

However, I like DCA for DCA. yes, it's nice that the extra wide walkways never feel crowded, but we often spend a whole day at DCA and not because it feels less crowded..

That must give Disney great confidence in knowing that DCA is DL's overflow park.

    It doesn't. Hence the 1.2 b-b-b-b-b-billion (that's spelled with a B hee-hee).

No I want all access. If I lived in Florida, I would get an AP that included all the parks too. I want to do what I want when I want.

I see lots of people answering a question that wasn't asked in the original post. The poll asks, if there was an option to purchase either a single-park AP or, for $50-$100 more, a two-park AP, which would you choose?

Of course, the question asked in the original post for the poll is different from the one in the title of the thread.

    LOL thats classic backfire!

It really seems as that we have a small core group of people here that do so much talking that if you did not pay attention you may actually be fooled into thinking DCA is a bad park and most people here think that.

Re: Would you prefer a DIsneyland Park Only AP instead of a 2-park AP?

I could probably live w/out it if I'd save $100/more per pass, because on all of our 4-5 day trips down there, we spend MAYBE a total of 6-8 hours there, tops. I'd rather just buy a day pass if we decided to go.......

That being said, the minute I bought one w/out it we'd probably decide that's the one trip we needed to be there more than one afternoon.

Although maybe if you had a DL AP only, and could buy entry to DCA for $25/pop, then that might not be so bad.
Counting the minutes......next trip ??????!!!! (to far away!!!)
