Anyone else think MHT is...gulp...lame?

I REALLY wanted to be wowed by Mickey's Halloween Treat last year, and I REALLY tried to convince myself I was, but truly I was underwhelmed.

Maybe it's because we didn't dress up...maybe it's because the "no lines for rides" is not hard to come by in DCA on any given day...maybe it's because the character meet lines were loooooooooong...maybe it's because there was not any spectacular special entertainment...maybe it's because DL is also decorated for Halloween (spectacularly!)...maybe it's because MHT was really geared toward little kids (we were three adults and an 11 year old).

I did really like the decorations at DCA (the mickey-head ghost lights were very cool,) the music was fun and the dance party w/ the Incredibles was pretty nifty.

I really wish they had a special parade, like a halloween style BPB, which I think is the most fun parade they do at DLR!!

We will be at DLR in October and I am waffling on buying tickets to MHT again. Not sure the experience will be worth the price of admission.

Anyone else feel this way...now's the time to fess up!

Lame? Wow we loved it and thought that iswas great for the kids. We went last yer and we are going back again this year and the kids can't wait. We love the fall season and the Halloween holiday itself. We adults did not dress last year and won't again this year, but it is all about the kids and they love the event. As long as they have it we will keep going back down south to enjoy it.

Maybe we will do the Happiest Haunts tour instead. or buy tickets on the fly if they are availble at the door on the 25th. That will be a sign we should give MHT another chance.

I have never attended because it is obviously geared to small children. My child was 15 last year and had no desire to go. I didn't want to go for the same reasons I try to avoid fantasyland...

I"m a big kid and really want to go but I think the idea of being around that any kids scare me. Do adult dress up too?

Never been because it is geared toward small kids. I don't want horror, but something young and old can enjoy.

Yes, adults can dress up as well (obviously they have to stick to the costuming guidelines.) I was there & had a good time.

No, it's not that great compared to the one they have out in Magic Kingdom in Florida...but it's still fun.

Now with the big billion smackers Lassiter-led rebuild of DCA forthcoming, it looks more and more that this may become a two-park event as early as 2008 because of that.

I'm going for the first time this year, and I will be in costume (providing I get all my parts together.) Eh... I've worked around kids for 30 years... they don't scare me... much. I'm mostly going because a group of MiceChatters will be there and it will be the first time I've met some of them so its going to be PARTY TIME!!

Hey there! Keep perspective, please. Those of us who can't get to the parks would love to make our own impressions as well. We just have to live vicariously through those of you that can make it and then post the pictures for us. We'll take any we can get!

I'm going to Disneyland in October(can I get a WOOO HOOOO?!), but there's no way I'm paying for a hard ticketed event in California Adventure! So I agree with your assessment. If I want candy, I'll go buy a bag.

i personally have never really been interested in it. Halloween for us is about fear and horror, which is why we always go to Haunt, HHN, The Cellar and this year must even make a 3 day trip to Orlando to go to USO HHN.

it sounds like a nice event, but not something i would pay extra for when there's so many other "scary" events i could go to instead

Exactly what I was going to write. This is definitely aimed for a different audience, not necessarily kids but those who wouldn't be able to handle getting chased by a chainsaw
