    Adventureland Planters

I was wondering about this. I know when Indy was added and the Jungle Cruise boathouse was built... things got crowded. A lot of it was, and continues to be the popularity of Indy. However I was thinking about something else as well. The Boathouse is actually CLOSER to the Jungle then the previous hut was, which means they did make an attempt to expand the street. Aside from the planters I can't figure out why it always seems so crowded. Indy is a chokepoint, and you expect that hassle at the end, but it always seems so crowded ALL OVER and not just there. Did the old Adventureland have these planters, was it this crowded, and was it as built up?

    Re: Adventureland Planters

Dusty offered the best explanation, it FastPass for Indy.
That Just JAMS ups the crowds in that one little area!

So manhy are trying to get into one of THREE LINES for Indy:
the Indy FastPass (which by itself jams up the main walk area
with a roped off queue), the Indy FastPass Return (which people
who arrive back too early, Jam up the entry area making it
difficult for people to get in and out) and the Indy Standby line.
WHY can't they get rid of the FastPass for this attraction!?!?!?

THEN they could use the space where the fp machines are at for
additional seating for the Bengal BBQ!!!!

I don't think that the "Tarzan Treehouse" tree stuck in the middle of the walkway helped matters much in that area; what the bridge over the Pirates queue did to alleviate the bottleneck years ago, the Tarzan tree base basically restored... and the entrance(s) to Indy (FastPass machines and Standby & FastPass entrances) is really poorly concieved due to the lack of space there; also, two words: "Stroller Hell"

    Re: Adventureland Planters

I blame it mostly on Tarzan's Treehouse...the entrance was placed smack dab in the middle of the walkway. If it was the way it used to be, even with the crowds from Indy and Bengal BBQ, there would still be space to move around.

The Treehouse has been there a long time....long before Indy was ever built.

The main Treehouse itself is not the problem. It is the secondary tree that you enter from that is placed right in the middle of the walkway.

    Re: Adventureland Planters

The extension built on the Treehouse during the Tarzan move in
really is just an extension of the bridge, which helps traffic in the
long run. And it provides a great entry to Adventureland from it's
backside. It actually enhance the Tree and traffic flow.

The real problems is confused people standing around the entrance
to Indy and it's THREE lines. The rest of the traffic in AL flows ok.

It has always been crowded going through adventureland. Indy does make it worse. For some reason people just stop there with a dazed and confused look on their faces. I don't get it.

    Re: Adventureland Planters

I wasn't really referring to the end (Indy) specifically because I EXPECT it to bottleneck there. I was referring to the rest of the land, which for some reason is also extremely crowded and I couldn't figure out a reason why. As to Treehouse... people rarely go up there so anymore it's line doesn't affect the overall bottleneck. It adds a claustrophobic element of feeling "closed in" but it really doesn't choke as much as people think.
