Re: So, I want to work at Disneyland...

"The Disneylander: Remember that the CM's are usually high school seniors during their summer break, and most of them are only hoping to earn a little money. They don't know anything, and Disney hires them anyway. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

DLcastmbr: Disneyland is an awesome job for college they work with your schedule, have flexible hrs and youll meet alot of friends! And if you like history u can learn tons there!"

    Both are right!

yes, being a CM at Disneyland doesnt really cover the bill far enough... But if your CR, you can always pick up shifts or add more hours on.

BUT, i really think you need a car. Usually at night when you get off work IE 11PM, 1AM etc, there wont be buses running. Only way would be to bum a ride off another CM or have someone pick you up... Car is like a must!!!

Flexible sch? HAHAHA, only for slow seaons :P

Its fun though. I would have quit in summer but still, i LOVE messing around with guest :P aka guest interaction!

That really depends on scheduling... I've seen a lot of schedules come out (which change each week BTW, for most departments) and many CM's having to quickly trade shifts, or beg their stage/production scheduler for different times only to be told "no".

As others have said- it is fun to work there but as long as you can afford it. Zero to 40 hours part time really does mean that so be sure you can still have money if you're scheduled 8 hours or less per WEEK, not day, during the off-season. So Cal is expensive to live in.

    Pay Rates-

You still didn't answer whether you wanted to work in the park or in TDA. TDA CMs are still CMs.

Anyways, if you're a CR, all they require is Fri night, Sat, and Sun during non-peak seasons, peak seasons being summer, spring break, winter break, and fall break essentially. For the most part it'll align with your school schedule...

They have regular job fairs at TDA, and there is a college program for if/when you get into undergrad or jr. college. Start at www.disney.com/careers.

    Best of luck!
This person gave you the best advice. The Disney College program can help guide you and give you lots of information regarding your career interests. And I do know that when once you enroll and you are dedicated to the college program you will learn a lot about the history of Disneyland while earning some perks along the way.

    Good Luck!

Yes, I suggest a dorm your first year or two. Get to know people and then get an apartment. But be prepared to be cramped. I know some students who live in apartments near UC Irvine. And it is quite common to see as many as 5 or even 6 students sharing a single apartment!
