Re: Return of Abraham Lincoln on Sept 29?

Count me in as one who wants Lincoln returned, but the older version. No flies in my ears, please.

I hope it is Walt Disney's original "Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln" show that returns and not one of the funky 80's-forward remakes.

Maybe to pick up the attendance number they should bring more drama into the Lincoln show. Start off talking about how great Lincoln was, and give some of his speech at Gettysburg, etc.

Then go into action-suspense-thriller mode. http://home.att.net/~rjnorton/Lincoln75.html

They could show the failed kidnap attempt, followed by the assasination in the theatre.
Then show a moving and heart-felt reaction of the nation as Lincoln's traincar carries his body across the country, and people mourn. It would be great if they have more moving pieces and props, including the train car and casket, and a theatre balcony etc. etc.. All automated.

They could really jazz it up.

(Ok, at first I was going to just write a funny post that was meant as a joke, but I'm starting to like this idea. I think it could be done tastefully as a moving and heart-wrenching history lesson).

Yeah, that sounds like a million guffaws.

It'll really put guests in a joyful mood on their way into the park or top off a fun day on the way out.

    Maybe you could do stand-up.

    At funerals.

I miss Lincoln but I hope the 50th show plays at least until the end of the year.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

They are going to reinstall Lincoln, but this time it's "Under New Management" and features Iago and Zazu.

50th exhibit -> Lincoln in 11 days? Unlikely. You can bet its normal refurbishment like replacing carpet and other 'interesting' stuff.

I hope they move some stuff from the recently closed Disney Gallery to the Opera House.
