Re: A Sneek Peek?

^The caption to the art says it was created in 2007, which leads me to think that this was used to sell the billion-dollar DCA redo, not the small scale (in comparison) Matt Ouimet inspired placemaking projects.

Re: A Sneek Peek?

If they follow through with this, I'd be pleased. That whole area around the Condor Flats has always looked just plain buttly. More trees, more shade, and more theming....I'm all for it. Again...my only dilema is that I've committed myself to hating DCA for all eternity. But...dang it...it's beginning to look like it might be very tolerable indeed. They'll have to watch their step though. If they make it look TOO nice, DCA might actually become...CROWDED!

That's what I'm wondering...of all the things Al has talked about for that area, I've been hoping the most for the AA nature scenes that Lasseter was coming up with for GRR and potentially a mine train thru nature's wonderland-type attraction to go through that area.

I have to get a copy of this book...

Re: A Sneek Peek? (Grizzly Peak concept art)

That looks really cool. I also remember Al mentioning the Taste Pilots Grill getting a mountain lodge overlay with a large fireplace, if this happens the way I picture it, this sounds like it will be a really cozy place to have a meal. I can just imagine a soothing fiddle playing in the background, and a mesquite aroma, kind of like claim jumper, filling the air. Man I can't wait to see the finished product. I know it probably wont happen but a new Country Bears show would be great too.

COOL!!!!!!
It fixes the problem I have always had with condor flats...
That is that between the GCH and GRR its a pretty whimpy dessert.

Re: A Sneek Peek? (Grizzly Peak concept art)

AEGuy42, could I make a request? Could you try the taking the picture again? This one is really blurry and it's hard to make out any detail. Also, perhaps some close shots of the Condor Flats area and the Redwood Creek Trail? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for finding and posting this. I'm pretty sure I've lost at least a half day of work just chewing on it!

Re: A Sneek Peek? (Grizzly Peak concept art)

Wow!! Talk about getting a scoop on something! And I want that book. Glad we now have some concept art to drool over =D

Looks like Taste Pilots has a lodge feel to it in that picture (or Soarin') what with the green peaked room out front of it. I love the fountain in the bottom. It definitely looks very 1920's style actually. Like something that belongs up at Hurst Castle even. This image really has me excited!

Re: A Sneek Peek? (Grizzly Peak concept art)

What I wanna know is, what's going on in the top left of the page, where that Brother Bear kid's playground type thing currently is. From the looks of things here, it's not there anymore. ??? Anyone? Thanks for posting this!

I know the photo isn't the greatest, but that's the best I could do quickly. I'll scan it after work today though.

Re: A Sneek Peek? (Grizzly Peak concept art)

BTW. that pic jives w/ the rumors that I've been hearing... Basically, no more Condor Flats (no desert airport).
All now part of Grizzley Peak (forest) and vehicles going from the entrance area toward PP.

You're right that it's different. But in the pics, there's definitely an entrance. So something is there. And that's not the site for the DVCs that I've heard. (which is behind that area where there's currently a lawn)

But I haven't heard anything about the plans for Grizzley Peak Rec Area.
