Can you help me date these photos from the 80's?

I was scanning some old prints I had and found these that look interesting. Any ideas of when I was there?

The Hub before the Partners statue!

    The subs before Nemo.

I don't remember seeing this boat ride. Can anyone help me approximately date these photos? It must have been some time in the 1980's.

    Thanks!

Judging by the bad clothing choices, insane hair, and lack of pixar anything, I would definitely say you were there in the 80's.

Hmm. Well it was before the Partners statue installed in November 1993, which was the same year that the Motorboats went away. However, this even appears to be before the 1991 Gummi Glen motorboats overlay. The submarines were painted yellow in 1986, I believe, so this would have to be between 1986 and 1991, if that helps narrow it down any.

Well, the Submarine Voyage images are from 1986 or from sometime after, as they are yellow. If all of these photos were taken on the same date, then they're from after 1987, when the new Mark V Monorails started coming in....

The boats were there all the way into the early 1990's, no? They did some kind of gummie bear thing in 1991 with plywood. And shortly after that, they disappeared.

Just from the way people are dressed and the girl with the giant hair, I'm going with 1986.

Very cool to see Tomorrowland before it was destroyed.

    Edit: I didn't see MG's or Froggy's comments above. Yeah...like I said...um...1987.

    According to wikipedia:
The PeopleMover opened as part of New Tomorrowland in 1967. The cars originally were individually colored either red, blue, yellow, or green with white roofs. However later they were repainted all white with colored stripes in 1987.
    (bold mine)

    Hope this helps...

Frogberto took my words. x[ Although I
may not have been alive in the 1980's, I still
know my Disney facts. x] I'm guessing those
photos are from about.. 1986-ish to 1991-ish.
Same as what Frogberto said, the submarines were
painted yellow around 1986-1987... Hmm, the photos
were all taken the same day, right?

another item to help date this...

The PeopleMover cars were still solid in color, rather than grey with a colored stripe.

However, I don't know when the color scheme changed.

It's late 1986, early 1987. Motorboats don't have gummy bears. Peoplemover cars are still colored and not white. Subs are yellow.

    What do I win?

Re: Can you help me date these photos from the 80's?

The "boat ride" is the Motor Boat Cruise. One of my favorite rides as a kid, and I mean favorite, and one that I still haven't forgiven Disney for. It's currently Fantasia Gardens. Amazingly, it's one ride we can't blame on Pressler for going away, it closed in 1993 before he got there.

Now, it went 2 MPH, you didn't steer at all and the operator could stop the boats cold during the queue (unlike Autopia) so it wasn't thrilling by anyone's standards. But it was incredibly relaxing as it took you through the backwoods of Disneyland and around the Autopia and Monorail tracks. There was even a neat part where you had to navigate through a tricky rocky area!

I know the OP didn't mean anything by it (in fact I am VERY grateful he posted these), but it just stings to hear people now call it the "boat ride". It used to be such a proud ride. And by the way, the boats were all named with Disney character names...classic Disney characters, none of that Pixar junk. It's tradition to give your boat a name and Walt was to be no different.

It's around 1987...the Star Tours mural is in the background in Tomorrowland.

It takes a really dedicated Disneyland fan to correctly identify to within a couple years the date of a few photographs. Most people probably couldn't even tell you that these were from the 1980's. I am proud of MiceChat for this kind of work.

The Mark Five Monorails (pictured above the Motorboat Cruise) debuted in April of 1987.
