Re: Disneyland Opening Ceremonies July 17 1955 on DVD

Well I just got my Disneyland DVD and I love it. I like how during the 10 anniversary special there are camera angles that allow you to feel like you are riding in one of the matterhorn bobsled!

and what about those models what showed the cameras in the first Disneyland episode on disc one? They were so cool! I just wish I could play with them or something!

I can't find it now, but I read an article the other day giving the scheduled time that the announcement will be played tomorrow (today?) throughout Disneyland. The time it will be played was the exact time it was given 50 years earlier. Somewhere just before 4:30 PM in the Pacific time zone.

Which, I suppose makes sense.... on the East Coast that would have put the broadcast of the live opening ceremonies in prime time.

And... also during this show you can fully watch Sleepy take off his OWN HEAD!! Oh the horror!

At the end of the "Mary Poppins" dance sequence, she takes off into the air and Sleepy is on the far right hand side of the screen. It's only a few seconds, and you see a full reveal of the person inside, but it's most certainly there.

time marker where it begins is 17:30. Blink and you'll miss it.. it lasts for about 3 seconds.
