    Thunderstorms this Friday?

I was just checking the weather report for this Friday when I will be at the park, and it's showing scattered thunderstorms (40% chance).

Does anything (rides in particular) in Disneyland close or shutdown in the event of rain? How about if there's lightning in the area?

Well it rains, thunders, and lightnings every show in the Tiki Room!

I have been at the park during a significant rain showers. I remember alice in wonderland and canal boats being closed. While space mountain, start tours, and innoventions were pretty crowded (as were all dark rides). I also remember my feet getting very wet.

Luckily, the rain only lasted during the morning, and the afternoon it was nice. Be prepared to get wet, and dress accoridingly and bring a poncho and some dry socks and shoes.

Hope and pray that the storm is coming. It usually means small crowds.

At DCA Tuck and Roll in Bug's Land shuts down in case of lightening, not that you're likely actually go there.

Thanks for the info. Looks like we might save the outdoor rides for Saturday.

Or maybe we'll just say screw it, and just get drenched while enjoying the short lines.

The park's a BLAST in the rain, but not so fun in lightning. If it's only rain, there's only like 3 rides that close (teacups, Alice in Wonderland, and Tarzan's Treehouse). If there's lightning, that list grows significantly. Give the info line a call and get the full list at (714)781-7290.

On a semi-related note: How cool will it be to take the Happiest Haunts tour on it's very first day with LIGHTNING storms! Halloween Time for sure!

I love the park in the rain - you go puddle jumping!!! When we had AP's we always went in the rain and the serious cold (yes at times it got seriously cold especially with the wind and the rain) - we would go on all the indoor rides, but we would also go on Matterhorn, Splash and Thunder Mtn - you'd have to wear gloves and a hat cause seriously your hands would go red and numb.

I do know that in the rain, if there are thunderstorms (which I'll be at the park Sat night, and if it rains so be it, tho I don't want it to rain - I haven't been at the park since last summer) then there will be no outside shows or parades

Knott's shuts down for the day if it rains and there is less than 300 people in the park. I worked the park a couple of times during early closures. Thank God Disneyland doesn't have that same policy. I do know that if there is ANY lightning in the vicinity that Fantasmic! gets canceled. Not very safe to be around those light towers if lightning is close by. Can you say lightning rod?

We love Disneyland in the rain!!!! Last time we went in pouring rain...we went on Splash 3 times in a row...we walked on all 3 times...It was funny how people avoided the ride so that they wouldn't get wet!!!! If it is raining we will definatly be there!!!!

    Rainy days are THE BEST!!!

You can expect Alice and the Tea Cups to be closed in Fantasyland.

The Main Street cars will not be running and the Island will probably close (not that you would want to be there in the rain anyway). Other than that, I think pretty much everything else stays open.
