Re: Guests Allowed to Give CM's a Thank You?

The whole "required to decline gifts from Guests 3 times" thing is completely false. That "rule" was thought of by one manager a long time ago one day and it's been spread around so much that is considered the truth now. Guests are allowed to give gifts, even cash, to CMs... just like if you were to tip a waitress at a restaurant.

Gee, somebody must have forgotten to tell TDA that.

They're were still training the rule as of December 2005 when I went through Traditions.

CM's are not permitted to keep gifts and must turn them over to management if they are accepted. In some cases some gifts may be returned to the CM.

Food service tips are a different matter as they are part of the culture and the pay structure.

I gave four CMs a photo of the steam locomotives I work on and they accepted them so a little card should be good. I think one of the photos I gave out may have gotten put on the wall in the roundhouse.

That's odd. My Traditions class from June 2006 and my leads disagree with you.

Re: Guests Allowed to Give CM's a Thank You?

see in my traditions class i was told about the three no rule. i even had it at my traditions at disney world so its not just some rumor. if you are given cash you are supposed to turn it in to your lead it its up to them what to do with it. My lead said either keep it or donate it when i got a money once.
