PHOTO UPDATE 9/22: HalloweenTime!, Gallery, Missing Mural, $20 survey, merch, +MORE

    HAPPY HALLOWEENTIME!
As everybody knows, HalloweenTime is in full force. A lot of these photos are repeats of what others have posted, but the more the merrier, right?

The ticket booths have the new ticket prices posted...

Candy Corn Acres is a GREAT new addition to the festivities this year. It's really great fun, and not tacky or obnoxious, unlike a certain other holiday "beach blast"

The Candy Corn Carrots sign says
    Candy Corn Carrots
    "Visionarious Carrotas"
Plant near your back porch and listen for
things that go "Thumper" in the night.

    Candy Corn Pumpkin
    "Carveable Squashables"
Plant before the stroke of midnight
    and summon your Fairy Godmother.

My favorite Candy Corn crop: the Candy Corn Cactus:

    Candy Corn Cactus
    "Pricklytoo Touchies"
Plant in full sun with dry sense of humor.

The Candy Corn Acres show is a nice little show, too, and gets the kids involved well enough.

And here's an appropriate use of a Pixar character: Heimlich in the Candy Corn

    Golden Dreams is running, too:

The HalloweenTime banners are up on the street lights in the Backlot:

And at night, the Tower of Terror has awesome lightning lighting effects and bat projections...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...?v=jkz0xUfBpYc

While we're in the Backlot, can somebody get these movie billboards replaced?! The Santa Clause 3 ad is almost a year old!!!!! Ridiculous!!!

    TOY STORY MANIA!
Taking a quick break from HalloweenTime, over from Paradise Pier, here are a few shots of TSM! work...

Are they testing possible roofing styles for the building? If so, these seem like odd choices...

    HAPPY HALLOWEENTIME! - CONTINUED
Over at Disneyland, HalloweenTime looks great too

The Main Street Opera House is closed for refurb...

The seasonal treats are back at the Blue Ribbon Bakery (and Plaza Inn)

And the entire resort is now using special HalloweenTime cups for soft drinks. Nice!

And HalloweenTime souvenir mugs are also available

The Lion King Tran Stop also got into the HalloweenTime act

    ....

A look at the wait board mid-afternoon on Saturday:

A look at the Jack-O-Lanterns at the Partners statue:

    MISSING MURAL
Other threads have pointed out that the Tomorrowland Buzz Lightyear mural has been turned into a big blue wall.

What's interesting is that the Buzz mural is completely gone - If you look close enough, you can see the old Tomorrowland '98 mural there. I don't know if it's been painted over, or if its just a blue vinyl sticker over it... but you can see the lines and shapes from the old Tomorrowland '98 mural beneath that new layer of blue.

    Weird.

    DISNEY GALLERY ELEVATOR
The Disney Gallery elevator continues to take shape...

The Disney Gallery balcony is once again covered, too:

And the Adventureland entrance to the River Belle Terrace is all tarp'd up.

    SWEATER SEASON - NEW MERCH
Just in time for the recent rain, Disneyland has a new line of hoodies and other clothes to choose from:

    A new long-sleeve shirt:
    front:

    back:

    And a new women's polo:

    $20 SURVEY
To the right of DCA's entrance, there is a big green tent and fenced-off area...

Apparently, they're surveying guests in this green tent. It's about a 10-minute survey and if you're asked to participate, you get $20 for doing so. I was with peoplemover1 and she got asked to take the survey. It consisted of a lot of questions regarding corporate sponsorships in the park like Coca Cola, Kodak, etc. The survey also asked some general questions about the quality of Disney theme parks and other stuff. Maybe peoplemover1 will come and share some more details about the survey...

Allllright- that's it for this time.

    Thanks for looking

Great photos, as always. What a clear, blue sky kind of day for a great back drop.

    I'd take a survey for $20

I should have gotten video of it, but Heimlich has a small part in the Candy Corn Acres show, and also pops up from time to time when there isn't a show going on and talks about his love of the candy corn and whatnot.

Clearly I should have shopped more when I was at DL this week! One of those items I'd love to have. "Hello? Disney DelivEARS?"

    Great shots!

MasterGracey would have bought 6 and 2/3 churros if he got $20 from some weenie survey.
...or maybe 7 and 3/11 Dole Whips??

I did a double take when I saw the ticket booth prices. One day, one park adult admission is $66? Wasn't it $63 last I checked??

Has anyone else noticed that the AA Heimlich in the candy corn is borrowed from the BPB float of A Bug's Life that isn't used anymore? Heimlich used to poke out of the end of a sax.

After commentating very loudly how DCA isn't all that "punny," I'm surprised you didn't have any sharp disapproving remarks about the pun-riddled descriptions on the candy corn seed packets. I'm disappointed, MG.

Santa Clause 3 has got to go. Like anyone wants to be reminded of the film anyway!

The roof tiles on TSM look too much like the ticket booth tiles in the esplanade.

Halloweentime soft drinks are cute, except they still got the "Disney Parks" logo on 'em. *sigh*

I think I would pass on the DL55 merchandise. It's not anything particularly special, but some of the sweaters look very classy. (Hey, it's park-specific, right? )

Now I don't know what to think about the BLAB mural. I wouldn't have minded if it was left alone, because I thought it was impressive, detailed, and futuristic - and it matched the Star Wars mural, making the TL entranceway more "balanced."

I'll rely on MG and peoplemover1 to spend hours at a time in the coming weeks, staring up at the big blue wall.

Man, I would have jumped on the survey too, especially for $20 bucks! Suffering from good luck I see..

You must have missed Darkbeer's thread: http://www.micechat.com/forums/disne...-p2178044.html

Well at least they found a better use for him than in that lame, tacky parade.

In the context of Candy Corn acres which is outrageous and silly to begin with, the puns worked and I actually got a laugh out of the cactus one - "Plant in full sun with dry sense of humor." haha good stuff.

That whole lame backdrop needs to go, but while we're waiting for them to take it down, it would be nice to actually get some updated billboards up there!

Really? I got a more "Frontierland" vibe from them - granted, they aren't as rugged and worn as the Frontierland roof tles are, but they certainly aren't as perfect and prestine as the Ticket Booth's.

Yes, I was irked by that stupid DisneyParks logo, too. I mean, it has Sleeping Beauty Castle on the darn cup! It's obviously for Disneyland! Unless, of course, Hong Kong Disneyland is using them too ...?!

I passed on it, too, but I like the direction theyre taking with this merch. It's way nicer than a lot of the crap they've been making. At least there isn't any glitter or felt or plastic decals on this stuff!

I liked the Buzz mural, too... I thought the flying Space Mountains were cool. In the other thread about the missing mural, I was surprised that people were so happy about it being completely gone. I don't think that a blank blue wall is an improvement at all, even if the TL '98 mural and the Buzz mural weren't anything to write home about.
